I went to MyRadioStore's website to see if I could determine if they have products to make the XM Direct module compatible. It left me confused.

They offer a XMDirect kit for Chryslers which includes the basic XMDirect receiver I already have and also, a Terk adapter to adapt it to the Chrysler system. They didn't offer me one when I bought my XMDirect.

But then, when you click on the button to determine compatibility with various cars and trucks most 2005-2006 MOPARs have an N/A beside the year.

I don't know if they just haven't updated the compatibility chart or they offer nothing for 2005 and up. It makes no sense. I would think that is what the Terk adapter is for.

I think I'll try again calling them next week and see if I can speak to an adult.

I'd really like to be able to convert my Sirius to XM.

I am unfortunately driving a rental the last week and a half while my CTD is in the boday shop to fix a little fender bender, they stuck me with an 07 1500 with the 4. 7 and Sirius. The stock base Sirius gives you nothing more than a channel number when you listen to Sirius, to change stations you turn the knob and it goes channel 1 to 200 or however many stations there is. My aftermarket head unit gives you the scrolling text, artist, song etc. and I can easily tune to my favorite presets like Howard 100. It is going to be like getting a new truck again when I pick up the big Dzee on Tuesday.

Well so far there is no known XM Direct unit for the 2007 and forward RAM trucks. The Terk adaptor units will not enable the Satellite Mode on the Satellite ready radios. If and when some one finds one I will buy and install it. until then the only thing available conversion is the Factory Sirius unit.

Have XM Direct (In-Dash) from myradiostore.com, bought in 05 when I bought my truck.

Plugs into my OEM set up (RAZ) completely hidden. No wires or additional junk out front or on the dash. OEM shows song title, or artist,or channel name and number. , with 10 pre-sets. Perfect digital quality sound.

This looks like what you need. XM Satellite Radio at MyRadioStore - XM Radio Bundles - For Your Car - In Dash - XM Direct - XM Direct for Chrysler XMDCHY100 / XMDCPK

Don't let the "Terk N/A" confuse you. You don't need it with Dodge truck OEM. Ask the tech about the above item.

If this is it, DON'T get the Dealer to do it!!!" You'll Get HOSED!! Had a "pro at a car stereo place do it, and it was SO Easy that he only charged me $20. Antenna wire goes out through a rubber grommit near emergency brake peddle into door hinge area. Then wire goes up and back behind the top door gasket all the way to passenger door (same side). Then stick antenna about 3 inches straight back( towards the middle of the truck) from top door gasket/rubber insulation.

Magnet holds it there, and very hard to see. If you run it through the cab and out the Dummie Light, it WILL LEAK. Even with silicone. And it will cost a Lot More for that Leak.

Harvey, sorry for your troubles and I don't want to hijack this thread, but an XM-Sirius merger will be about the worst thing that could happen to satellite radio. No competition is a bad thing. Exxon/Mobil or AT&T ring a bell?

I believe there should be some industry compatibility standards between the two system's equipment, but I emphatically hope a merger doesn't happen.

Sled Dog,

From your message you appear to have an '05. Is that correct? The electrical system changed on all Dodge Rams in '06 and uses the Canbus system. I know very little about it but believe that everything is monitored by the ECM/PCM and uses computer communication over electrical wires. That may be why the XM Direct doesn't seem to work on later models.
