I transfered my XM from my '00 to my '03, only problem is the4re's no cassette to plug the aux input into for the radio. I am forced to use the FM modulator which sounds awful! The static drives me crazy, yes I changed stations with the same results. Anybody else have this issue? Also, is there a way to hard wire a plug into the auxillery outputs on the radio for a direct connection?

Not sure what system you have but there is another way to get by with out the tape player or the FM modulator. You can hard wire it into the back or your radio and just use it like an Aux cd changer. Here is a link to the one that my firend was showing me and uses becuse Im thinking about getting XM and dont like the tape player way or the FM mofulator.

Blitzsafe adapters there a little bit more then the FM Modulator but I think its worth it. If you only have a in dash cd player you only need the single RCA input but will need the Single RCA-Input + CD Changer Input if your running the XM and an Aux cd changer. Hope that helps

I have the xm skyfi with the fm modular, I have no problems with any static. It sounds as good or if not better than cd's. I bought 2 adapter cables to plug in the modular and then back into the stock radio. The only problem I did have is when I installed it, I did not get the connection snugged up for the attenna, and had poor radio reception. But pushed the plugs togther better and it worked.

Dittos on no problemas with the FM modulator. The only time I've had a problem was when I was in a town with an FM station on the same frequency (88. 1), and the station overrode the modulator. I could have corrected this why switching the modulator to a new frequency but didn't bother since I was pass through.

Fortunately towns are few and far between in this neck o' da woods :)

Thanks for the direct connect info, because this has to be a superior way to crank the tunes 'n talk.

Thanks for the help. I looked at the blitzsafe adaptors site and it looks like that's how I will have to go. The static is weird. It's not always there and when it is it's in the back ground, not a direct static. In fact you won't here it on a talk station only on a music station and only when music is playing, it's not a constant static almost sounds like a cracked speaker. I had to point it out to my wife before she could even tell it was there. With the amount of time I spend in my truck my ear is drawn to the sound at this point so it really stands out. I also think you loose your digital direct signal by going through the modulator. Thanks again for leading me in the right direction I will be contacting Blitzsafe for the adaptor.

P. I. E. also makes a direct connector adaptor, works great. I'm using it with the Delphi SkyFi xm radio.

The only problem - if you could even consider it to be one - is that the radio seems to occasionally "forget" what track/location you were previously at on the CD player - so when you switch back to the CD it's on Track 0 Time 0 again. Doesn't do it consistently and for all I know it happened before I installed the P. I. E. adaptor.

The only thing digital is the signal sent from the satellite to your receiver, where it converts it to an analog signal. Then it is sent either via FM modulator or by line level input (RCA plugs for example) to the head unit. To use RCA you need an auxillary in (AUX IN) on your head unit. Not all head units have AUX IN so be aware.

When I put my pyro/boost in I had the front dash panel off so I took out the radio to see if my any chance there was a simple jack system like the RCA, please, please, please. Nope, none on the radio/cassette I had in the 04. But then again my expertise when it comes to electronics is plumb scary.

Appears you would have to tap a line? What color, gurus o' sound?
