After driving 400 miles and constantly searching for decent stations I gave up.

So I had a XM reciever installed. :) I am so glad I did. Due to job requirements I am driving about 800 milese each weekend. With the XM I just put it on a station and forget it.

For any of you that make long trips you should check it out.

Best stereo up grade I have ever made.

What is your monthly service fee?

What receiver did you get?

I often get those Crutchfiled catalogs and wonder what I should do.

I've been looking at the XM for about 4 months now and maybe soon-did you get the box or the one that plugs into the cassette-the service fee is $10 a month---chris

My stock radio was the base model AM/FM cassette so I got the hole sheebang.

New Pioneer AM/FM/XM/CD radio, Pioneer XM reciever, XM antenna, & new Inifinity speekers front and rear.

The monthlly fee is about $10 or $12 per month.

I drive about 800 miles per weekend (round trip) between Boston MA and southern New Jersey minimum of 14 hours if no traffic. Having one station to listen to is great.

I could have saved some money getting a CD player but then you have to mess with changing CDs. The station I listen to on XM has no commercials and almost no DJ talk.

Its a no brainer just turn it on and enjoy the tune for as long as you drive.

If my wife finds out she will demand one in the motorhome as well.

I toyed with the idea of XM for several months not knowing what to do.

I checked out Crutchfield as well as some internet sights.

One night I was in a Circuit City so I asked the sales guy about them. It turned out they where offering free installation as $30 off a set of speakers. I figured I could do the installation but it would take time so if its free??? well why not?

By the time I got the radio, Xm receiver, antenna and installation kits (thats right you need about 4 different kits) the price was about $800. More thatn I wanted to spend but with the amount of road time I was facing I went for it. And I glad I did. (don't tell my wife)

It recieves over 100 channels and it might be as high as 200. It took me a while to find the stations I like. I went to thier web site www.xmradio.com and that helped me sort through all the different stations. Its kind of like having satilite TV it takes a while to find the stations you like then you can ignore the rest.

For my purposes its great.

Just give them time I'm sure they will have it soon.

Or maybe you could contact them and offer to host the show.

I'm sure your expertize in that field of music are unsurpassed.

Is there a way I could get in touch with you?

I would like to find out more about mods you've done to your truck.

If so please drop me a PM with how to get in touch with you.

Thanks

Craig

well i went out and got XM yesterday--should've done it sooner--what a great addition to be able to listen to what I want without a commercial every ten seconds---chris
