My neighbor contacted me yesterday to let me know that my PIA light's looked like they were on on my TJ so I walk out side and man they were dim. I have a duel painless battery set up with 2 yellowtops installed and the "1 battery wouldn't start my jeep so I toggled over to "2 and the jeep started right up I then set the toggle switch to the center (charge's both batterys in this position) and drove my jeep all day and wouldn't you know it the battery is now operating normal. I called 4x4 part's in Van Nuy's and they said bring it in if I have a problem with it and they would exchange it for me for free. Now that's great service.

Do any of you know if this has harmed this type of battery that is draining it and recharging it and will it cause problem's later?.

IMO...

No Problemo! I have a number of Yellow Tops and one Blue Top. They are Deep cycle batteries which were made to be fully discharged and brought back to 100%.

But, try that with a Red Top and you will kill the battery dead in short order.

A good idea when that happens is to charge is slowly. Like 2 amp on the battery charger and let it be for a day or two.

While I haven't had a problem with the Jeep and the Yellow top, sometimes when fully discharged you have to hook up a charger to a standard lead acid battery. Then connect the Optima to the lead acid with jumper cables. It has to do with the lack of internal resistance in the Optima.
