Yes you are!! And I say he!! yes. No scoop, stick the valve covers (yes, more than one if properly valved) out thru the hood. This is not a new idea to me, as my brother and I have been bench swapping this for years. Go for it! I wish I were closer to you so I could lend a torch, or maybe a BIG hammer. I am not saying this will be easy, nothing worth doing is. If you do this, take pics please.

A friend has a Lincoln with a BMW diesel. I think it's the factory engine. The cam broke recently: could be bought cheap!
