There is a way to check, but you need to do it after the truck has sat for a few hours (long enough for it to cool off completely). Fire up the truck and let the oil circualte a few seconds, then step on the throttle and rev it up to 1400-1500 RPMs. If the truck stumbles quite a bit and is running rough the timing is likely the culprit. Also during this you may notice quite a bit of white smoke.

Well I got my 370;s in today and WOW..... Took about 3 hrs to do the fuel lines was giving me a fit they were really tight and I was nervous hoping that they wont break..... only had one leak and yes it was #6 the hardess to get to... . while I had it broke down I time it and its exactly where I set it 4. 8mm ... . so that eliminates the timing slipping..... EGT go up alot faster now so I guess HX40 is in the future... . smoke isnt that bad there is defently more but not what I was expecting..... Rick
