My A/C gets too cold , the compressor wont stop.

I have to cycle the clutch manually every two or three minutes with the blower switch so the evapoator will thaw out.

There must be a temperature regulator switch on the evapoator.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem,, my A/C Freezes up, even worse on low fan speed settings.

The reason mine freezes up is because I have a small leak that requires I fill up on freon every 6 months or so. I like the freezing A/C I think the water dripping from the truck looks Cool :D I just have to be sure not to park the truck with a Frozen evaperator otherwise, when I turn the truck back on,, WHEW, the A/C Stinks. .

I guess the low pressure switch isn't working ?

I'd like to know what kind of damage I could cause to my compressor running it low on refrigereant?

The evap press switch is on the suction line just before the accumulator. 30 bucks at the dealer. It has a schrader valve under it so you dont have to dump the charge. Dont forget to ask for the new little o-ring that seals it.

If the evap ices up you could pull liquid refrigerant into the compressor and damage it.
