Just got my 370 injectors... . trying to be patient about getting them installed. I noticed that the washers that came with the install kit are . 060" thickness. From everything I've read on here, I think I really need the . 020" washers.

Does anyone have a cummins part number for the correct install kit or a source for the correct washers?

Thanks!

Randy

You do need the . 020 washers. If you use thicker washers, it compounds the less than ideal spray angle of the 370's.

The install kit that Piers sent with my 370's had 3 different washer thicknesses. You should be able to go to a Cummins distributor and get an injector installation kit with the correct washer thickness.

Dipaco has an injector install kit with several thickness washers, o-rings and copper return line washers. I don't have the P/N handy but it's something like DPE-59??? www.dipaco.com

A lot of autoparts stores carry their stuff for diesel parts.

Thanks for the info. I was able to get the . 020 washers from the cummins dealer here in town. He found them in an old box so he gave them to me! I was very impressed.

Got the injectors installed last saturday. So far so good. But I do have a few questions...

1. I have the famous "Stumble" right at 1250 RPM. It is pretty bad... I'm going to try and loosen the governor springs up a little... Is that the right approach?

2. EGT so far haven't been a problem. I really thought they would be? I'm not sure where my timing's set... Dave's Diesel had the pump off a few years back to calibrate it on the stand. Would they have to reset the timing after pulling the pump?

3. what else do i need to look at? So far I haven't been able to do any show stopping burn outs like I was expecting. Really there is very little tire spin if I start from a dead stop. Lot's o smoke though!

According to my G-Tech computer, I hit 366 hp. SOund right?

Having the pump cal'd is not the same as adjusting the timing. They would have to set the timing when re-installing the pump on the engine. They could have set it to stock or maybe advanced it. Only way to tell is by checking it. I would first make sure your at 15. 5° timing. This may cure the stumble and help EGT's even more. You won't spin them like a 60's muscle car without holding the brakes first - you need to build boost to spin them. Once there going you can definately lay down plenty if you let it though. HP sounds pretty right.
