Intercooler Cracked!

I did a little searching on electric fan "upgrades" for our trucks and have not found any that pull the same cfm as the stock unit. I don't tow, and was wondering if anyone else has had sucess with an electric fan. I'm currently running without any fan at all and find the truck to heat up nicely to 180 & never go over. An uncle runs his 79 D350 with a Detroit Diesel that he put in it and uses an electric unit without any problems, but thats only a 4 cyl. Also if anyone has changed to electrics, what did you do to kick the fans on when the AC is on? It appears either 1 or 2 units for larger engines (V6/V8) should give me plenty of cooling for my situation. Of course I wouldn't attempt to pull a 5th out of death valley with one. Any suggestions?...

I had a flex a lite on my old gasser that pulled 5200 cfm and about 30 amps. That one was discontinued and the new truck fans are like 5500 cfm. I would think that is more than enough for the diesel.
