I am looking to replace my tires on my 95 3/4 ton 4x4 and have narrowed it down to two tires the Goodyear Wrangler RTS or the Cepek FC II both in the 265/75R16E. My previous tires Dunlop Rovers 285/75R16D's did not last long and performed poorly in snow and rain. I am looking for input on which tire would handle better rain and snow yet give good performance. 99% of my traveling is without a load, on the highway but when I travel off road I need good traction.

I just installed some Michelin LTX M/S 285/75R16 D's. They just came out with this new size. They are nicer riding offroad, slightly taller than the OEM 265/75/16 E's, visually fit the fender wells much nicer and only 110lbs less per tire rated capacity than the E's. Some trucks are getting over 100K miles on these, probably not going to happen behind a Cummins, especially towing. .

I am running Bridgestone Dueller Revos and I believe that they are 265/75/R16 E. I know they are E anyways. I have run many different tires on different trucks and these by far are the best. Traction is amazing in rain and snow and at the current wear rate I believe I will get 50K to 60K out of them.

Go to tirerack.com and read user reviews. You will see that they are very highly rated by many users. The tread pattern is very cool and agressive looking but they ride smooth and are quiet.

I originally bought them from tirerack.com and when I received them the shop I took them to for installation said they were too badly out of round. Turns out the shipping damaged two of them. I will never order mail order tires again. Tirerack.com did replace them and they have been great ever since.

You cannot go wrong with the Revos.

Thanks

Phil

Hands down Michelin XPS Traction will run great in snow and rain and out last most others. I used to get 80k consistently running hot shot with them. JMHO

Thanks for all of your reply's. How do the Revos differ from the Rovers. I only got about 23,000 miles out of them plus they sagged under a load and handled poorly (felt like ridding on marbles at highway speeds on mountain roads).

Got almost 30k on my Cooper 305 X 70's they look like theres another 30 left. rotation + proper balancing + correct pressure (for your conditions) = long tire life. my $0. 02

JohnCarr,

The Revos are completely different than the rovers. They have fairly stiff sidewalls and do not sag. They do not have that "under inflated" look that many other tires for our trucks have. Let the reveiws on tirerack.com speak for themselves. Revos are very good and you will not be dissapointed. You can compare them to any other tire that people list here and see they rate higher.

I have no connection to Bridgestone. Just think the Revo's are the best out there through experience with several truck tires. My $0. 02 cents.

Thanks

Phil

I will second the Revo's. I have had mine on for 50k and they may very well make 60k. While not as long lasting as the stocker mich ltx's they have much better traction in the wet and snow. I found them to be great in snow, rain and on dry pavement as well as offroad. Their only weak area seems to be in the nasty mud. They are also pretty quiet.

Thank you for your responses. You changed my mind and I will be purchasing the Revos. Any suggested location to get the best price. My local Discount Tires selling installed with road hazard for $179. 00. Tirerack.com sells for $156 but with shipping brings it to $177. 00 without installation.

JohnCarr,

Your best bet is to just call around. You can have tirerack.com drop ship to a local shop of your choice. You will not be dissapointed with the tires. I love mine!

Thanks

Phil
