Just finished Bosch 275 install this weekend. Great and easy to follow instructions by TDR, thanks. Can not believe the increase. Stock injectors were filthy, don't know how they worked at all. I'm at 25psi boost now, does

that sound correct? What should my max short & longer hill climbing egt's be?

Ponz

25 PSI is about right. To get more Pressure, you are going to need to add more fuel, Eaither with a fueling box; Edge Comp, Blue Chip FMS Ect... Maybe add a Smarty. Moose00

Rich, I've noticed very little smoke difference with just the 275's. If I add the Superchip at any level there's plenty of smoke. The injectors are working so good that I'm running without the Superchip and just the ADD and boost elbow.

Ponz, which TDR issue did you use for the install? I'm doing mine on Friday and was going to use the Diesel Dynamics pdf that has been floating around forever. It looks really thorough but I'd always like another reference. I have the factory service manual as well to help me. Thanks!

Glad you like the sticks... can't wait to get these in:)

JRihani,

I used the same Diesel Dynamics pdf that Bob Wagner posted. The only difference I noticed was I needed to remove a bracket bolted to the cowl that holds the wiring connectors. This allowed better access to the #5 & 6 injector lines. The torque setting for the injector hold-down clamps is very light and easy to miss so watch the torque wrench closely.

Ponz,

Thanks! The one thing I noticed between the DD pdf and the factory service manual is that the DD pdf says nothing about the injector tubes (the fuel transfer tubes). Do you not have to do anything with them in this process? i. e. back them out a little?

I just want to make sure I'm ready for tomorrow! Thanks.

John

JRihani,

You are correct. After you remove the fuel line nuts from the injector tubes and slide them back on the lines, I loosened all six at the same time, made it flexible enough to slide the lines out of the way enough to take a small straight blade screwdriver and simply pry the tubes out just enough to clear the threads, before you remove the injector. You don't need to remove the injector tube just pull it out enough to clear the injector. This tube runs thru the middle of the head to the other side where the injector is. Injection pump, lines, nuts,& tubes on driver side of engine & injectors & hold-down clamps on passenger side. Hope this helps.

Ponz,

They went in without a hitche yesterday, thanks!! I actually had much more trouble with #5 then #6. The transfer tube just didn't want to back out on #5.

It runs strong and smooth... I hope that means everything is working properly!

Thanks,

John
