How are the Nittos holding up?

I'm looking for new tires... . I'm gonna need some soon with the way I drive. I'm looking for something bigger then 285/75/16 ...

most likely the 295's. . or maybe the 315's if I get a level kit.

Also trying to get a decent looking tire with someone of a decent speed rating LOL

So hows them Nittos?

5000 miles and no complaints so far. The rear I can't really tell that they've worn at all. The front you can tell on the outside edge, so it's time for me to rotate them. I really should slow down in the mountain canyon's to save some tire wear up front. Plus, I should have the alignment checked since I leveled the truck.

If I had it to do all over again I would still buy the 18" Nitto's. I really like them.

Im very interested in the Nitto's too,all the imports, and RWd muscle cars have them around here now, they are excellent tires from what ive seen of them. Since i have 4. 10's im looking for a tires in the 33. 5-34" tall height range,so i can get thru the 1/4 mi at over 105 mph without exceeding 3150 RPM in OD locked up. For some reason my rear tires are always wearing way faster than the fronts:confused: they wear at about 3X the rate, must be defective tires,

I've got about 4k on mine now, and I am very happy with them. I just returned from a trip out to PA and I am very happy with the highway characteristics of these tires. They are quite, handle and corner well, and they handle well in the rain too. Plus I really like the way these look (size and tread pattern) on the truck.

FTR I went with 285/75/16 and I bought them from www.tires.com (Discount Tire Online)

I'm sure one of the very important factors is longevity, and it seems nobody has had them long enough to determine how long they are going to last. Time will tell. I know 4k isn't much, but FWIW mine still look like new.

If I had the choice to do it over again, I would buy the same tires.

Nittos in the Rain

Cooker,

I'm happy to hear you think they perform well in the rain. A few weeks ago it rained pretty hard for the first time in a while here (Utah) and my truck did something very unexpected. I was pulling away from a stop light at a normal pace and my whole rear end started going sideways. I realized my tires were spinning and causing the rear end to slide sideways. I let off the gas to regain traction. I was shocked my rear end had just broken loose because I wasn't accelerating very fast. After I regained traction I decided to experiment (for the fun of it). So I floored my RAM and both tires broke loose and the truck was accelerating sideways down the wet road. I'm sure the people behind me thought I was crazy or something.

Since then I've been a little worried about how these Nitto's will perform in the snow and rain this winter. I'm hoping that intersection just had an abnormal amount of oil on it which caused my tires to break loose so easy. In a couple months I guess I'll find out!

Hey Brian,

How did the Nitto's do in the Snow? I really like the looks of them and hope the reports are good.

Thanks JJ
