The late TDR writer Jim Anderson was an excellent resource for covering the redundant questions from those that were new to the Ram/Cummins Turbo Diesel pickup truck.

As an example, he could and would answer the question, “What do you think about Lucas Fuel Additive?” Or perhaps the TDR member wanted to discuss “Motor Honey?” How about “Hot Shots Secret?” Care to discuss “Power Service?”

Likely you have an opinion on the topic . Mine has been written numerous times and the “I don’t want to discuss this again” answer is found at our web site in the book “The Perfect Collection”, pages 151-154.

Here is a reprint of those pages.

Thanks, Bret.
Love the quote. Can I ask for your permission to use it as a Header across the top of our website?
Seriously, love it. That is what you guys are all about!

“I don’t want to discuss this again”

I suggest you re-consider. This is one of the topics that not only gets interest from members, a lot of interest, but things change.

We recently discussed a new BioDiesel that has been turned loose on the unsuspecting public.

Availability of one’s favorite brands of oil with the supply chain problems has pushed some to use other brands.

Even Cummins changed their oil specifications.

My truck will be OBSOLETE if they require by law a higher % of BioDiesel than the 5% required here, now.

You may not want to discuss it, but, that’s not stopping changes made to both Fuel and oil.

Actually just 1 month ago their was a study on fuel additives & whether they actually made an impact on lubricity & if so a means to measure the difference, They established a standardized fuel source for all 6 products, here is a snap shot of the result screen.

I was formally a Hot Shot additive guy (which came out to $0.05 a gal) but in seeing this I'm going to give the XPD All-In-One a try (Comes to $0.25 a gal) I generally haul somewhat heavy 20-24K 5th wheel 3 months out of the year, I 've been over & through the Rockie's, Sierria's many times & sometime on roads I probably shouldn't be. 160K on the clock, I do my own maintenance & IMHO Low Sulpher fuel dictates it for me.

Here is a link to the youtube video in case some of you might have an interest. I'm not making any recommendations here & everyone can make their own decision. Just like I did. Good Luck!
