Worst place to run out of fuel.

Saw an "expert" on TV the other day saying that the lack of electricity and skyrocketing bills was a GOOD thing. He says it will teach you folks to use less energy and be kinder to the environment #ad
He never mentioned how many powerplants they have shut down with their enviro stuff. Gosh, I wish I could live in California #ad

Not only that, but they have not built a new powerplant in that state since 1973 or 1975. Thats like buying a boat and inviting everyone who walks up to get on, soon water is coming in faster than you can get it out, and it sinks.

I do feel sorry for the Normal folks out there who are caught with all the tree huggers and enviro-nazis. They will bankrupt the state then want the nation to bail them out.

My solution to CA's power problem is to put all the folks there on government assistance on a treadmill hooked up to a big generator, you could dangle some food stamps in front of them to keep them moving. They would probably have enough excess power to run Las Vegas. #ad

Please allow me to bring you up to speed: 1. ) Deregulation has put private power companys, i. e. P. G. &E, Edison and others into a panic, so rather than worry about maintaining plants they sold them! Now the new owners have got them by the short hairs.

2. ) Do you know who built Hoover dam. Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, so we allready put the megawatts to Vegas!

3. ) After the gold rush all those settlers made these desert citys, which later required water & power... please see Cadillac desert and turn off that mind drugging "news".

Yes I live in California and do not find myself yapping about other places. They all have their good points, and bad... our worst point is all these people! My sister visited us from Arkansas and wondered why I stayed here... got a job with a good retirement and here I stay. #ad

Oh almost forgot, if there was a shortage of electricity how the F**k did we go through a 100 plus degree summer without a snag? Turn off your T. V and allow yourself to get the truth...

I lived in California for fifty years and took early retirement so I could get out of there. I feel like I have died and gone to heaven living here. I will never go back to live there. They say you can't miss what you never had so I say to the people who have spent their whole lives in Calif. , "You don't know what you're missing".

If its sooo bad then please explain why its so **** crowded with "transplants". Maybe I'm wasteing my time posting, but you Texans are sure cry'in about something you don't seem to know much about. Forty years... . long time! #ad

As to the Nevada kid, you guys would'nt have I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER if it weren't for CA money... we now buy power from the dam we built! Thats right, L. A. D. W. P. had a 50 year contract after that you guys get control of Hoover... . and we still have to be consultants to guide your state! Not to mention all those CA people running to Vegas (not me) every month. If it were not for tourism Nev would be a dustbowl... what have you got besides Reno and Vegas?

GET OVER IT! #ad

As I understand it, the average age in CA is 26? The imports to the state are of 2 varieties: those seaking fame in Hollywood, and those that dont speak English. And, most everyone who lives there has a grandparent or great-grandparent who lives in Florida... and still drives!

OK - wait a minute. My grandmother that still drives lives in - TEXAS.

I'm over 26 and a US citizen by birth. Guess where I was born - Kingsville, Texas. Closer to being a Mexican Citizen than if I was born in San Diego.

I still have relatives that live in Freeport/Wharton & Lufkin. I wonder what they do for a living? Oh, yeah - they live off food stamps & AFDC.

As far as Nevada goes - what is positive of Reno & Vegas? Nevada, New Mexico, Utah & Arizona - all dust bowls.

I lived in Commiefornia for lotsa years and the weather and the scenery are wonderful. The state government SUCKS, ask any business man or outdoor enthusist. Went back for Xmas and the traffic is horrible. Move everybody out that doesnt speak english and rehab the government and it would a pretty nice place. Its pretty grim when there are areas where all the business signs are in a foriegn language.

The Commiefornians that have screwed up that state so bad that they are now moving into the surrounding states and trying to turn them into totally f%^*ed states the same as the one they screwed up so bad they had to leave. I'm sorry but I have no use for them.
Just my opinion.

Gee - And our mayor just asked us Oregonians to cut energy usage by at least 10% so we don't run out of electricity. I have a better solution (don't take this personal) and that's to quit selling it to our Southern neighbors.

Si Senior deesul, You are so right, its the "imports" that F****D it up, thirty years ago this was the place to be! #ad

On the CA moving to other states, it's their choice and those other states do not have to be so fast to sell. Fayetteville,Arkansas is a great example they are developing like mad and selling to... you guessed it primarily CA folks. Once again human nature..... GREED! #ad

Do not be offended when I tell you that I can move anywhere but can not afford to come back! Not sure I would want to!

Also if one looks at the typical TX family tree you will see a picture of a telephone pole! Do they still have drive thru liquor stores? #ad
