You ever get really bored and read bottles of stuff?

So there I was the other, just sitting in the shop. I was bored out of my mind, so i start reading stuff we have sitting around. I find this neat little bottle of pink stuff called Vibratite. The airdales use it to hold bolts on the planes. It works great. I've used it in completely stripped out holes to hold bolts in. To this day, we haven't got 'em out. Anyways, I start reading the bottle. The front says Ozone freindly. The back says under contents (first line): "Contents partially unknown".



How do you make something, forget what you put in it and then market it to the world? Better yet, how do you call it ozone friendly, if you don't know what in it?



It's great stuff and gives me a chuckle everytime I use it. My other chuckle over it is that it is pink, hence why the airdales use it (not suggesting anthing). The rest of the fleet use a Poly-vinyl, Nylon Reinforced Adhesive product (formerly known as Duct Tape) to keep thinks from moving (use your imagination, it's use are unlimited ).

I don't know if it's still in use, but Spray Nine was THE shipboard cleaner in my day. The biggest reason was that it was the only one that could be used on food prep surfaces.



So one day I was reading the label and I noticed some very small print, next to the address of the company. It was the Spray Nine motto: "Spray Nine, it makes dirt cry!" What a great motto for a cleaner!



I checked another bottle several years later, and it was no longer there. They probably got sued by Ralph Nader, after they sprayed a pile of dirt, and then monitored it on video for a couple of weeks. When the dirt didn't actually cry, they sued for false advertising.



I see by your writing, that you are probably NOT an airdale. Good move. :-laf
