Looking for used, running take out engine

will a 1994 Chevy 3500 Crew Cab 4x4 SRW have room for a 6BT?

might be worth the entry bid... just for the parts [other than the motor wich is a great boat anchor]... ... BUT only if you have room for a pile O parts without you wife eating you alive. . :D

I can just imagine my wife's first reaction if I drug that thing home. Her second reaction would be to say, "You paid HOW MUCH!!!!!???" :D

Man, I used to kill Dana 44 parts regularly with a tired 440 and 33" swampers. Can you imagine with that boat anchor, and the torque??:--)

The guy stated that these were only temporary and just till the funds allowed different parts. I think it would be worth the price just for fun alone. At least the guy tryed to do something different, and it is different. To bad he had to sell it before it was finish. Before you pick him apart, what have you done lately? He was trying, and what he was trying to do, was alot harder then pushing buttons on a key board.

Hey I'm ashamed to say I spent a lot of money fixing the old 44F. Couldn't justify the money for a 60. Got one now and a good running 440 and no front end problems. It is a bad deal that he doesn't get to keep his project. I was just commenting about the very probable weak link.

As for me, I just got done putting a new ring and pinion in my dana 70 rear, after the pinion came apart. This summer my 75 Dodge and I attended 7 truck pulls, ended up with a first, two thirds and broke three times. We also went 4 wheeling 3 times, with just some minor trail damage. This truck I spent the last 3 years building from the frame up. It ain't perfect, and I ain't done yet but right now as it sets it works pretty good, especially considering I use it for 2 completely different activities. I installed and got the crossover steering to work correctly, and switched out the 60 rear to a 14 bolt to stop the broken axelshafts. For those that don't know, this is not a bolt in conversion. I also put gauges, and bigger injectors in my 93. I would do alot more if I could get the wife to quit buying so many groceries:rolleyes: but then I wouldn't get to learn as much from the tdr and get to see my baby girl(also born this year).

Again not intending to pick him apart, or his project, just pointing out the obvious.

:(

What have I done lately? Checkout my Jeep description in my info (which doesnt list nearly everything I've done, construction, fabrication, welding, etc), I built it from the bare frame up. It took me 2 years due to lack of money. . Its not a trailer queen either. Its been to Moab , Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, on all 4+ trails. I been wheeling for 20 years. Right now I have a Jeep in the garage I'm restoring for my wife, its a body replacement coz the old one is shot. More than I wanted to do, 2 body replacements in a row, but we can't afford new(er) Jeeps.

:)

Yikes! A 3208 is a totally gutless engine, especially for how heavy they are. If he wanted a gutless V-8 diesel, why not just install an International 6. 9L like Ford used to run? Would at least be lighter and equally as gutless when you figure the hp/weight ratio difference.
