If your looking for a certain sound or look then whatever it takes is the thing you need. On the other hand if someone is forking out the bucks to put a 5" on with the hopes of gleaning more power out of his EZ then he is going to be disappointed with the results of his expenditure. While this seems obvious to those steeped in the lore the new guys on the scene are not necessarily going to be aware of all the things that constitute the conventional wisdom of bombing a cummins. It is a wonderful thing to have so much collected wisdom in one accessible place.

5" bd system.

I have the 5" BD exhaust system on my 03 HO CTD. Install was very simple and hangers only needed a little bending for perfect install. Downpipe to the tailpipe was 5". The system only cost me around $625 something. So far, I am happy with the set up. I've gotten up to 3 additional mpg since install aloong with proguard7 intake. Downside to this system is, they're a little louder than I would have liked, but it still gave the CTD a deeper sound. I feel I got a great price for this system compared to bank's smaller 4 inch sytem for way less.
