Since saturday i must have gotten about 15 thumbs up from people. Semi drivers, Guys in Fords (LMAO), Girl in a beetle (oh yeah that was my girlfriend :) ) This thing sounds awesome. Not much drone... I actually have less that when i had my muffler on  . Personally i dont even think its THAT loud to where the sound police can nail a ticket on me. . In comparison id say its about even with my buddies Ws6 Firebird with flowmaster 40 series on it. For those of you who are debating on it GO FOR IT... . I even had my truck idle next to a 1st gen cummins and for those of you who say they dont sound nearly alike you must be drinking too much beer... :)

I forgot to add : This thing sounds like a F-16 :) :) :)

Is it any wonder why us Aeroturbine guys have been wearing the same grin?

Although, I can almost guarantee that with an aftermarket turbo, the straight pipe alone is going to be too much. As it is now, I can just about drown out my stock radio at around 2800RPM. That's OK - the increased pressure in my head is just my reminder to enable OD again :)

Another option would be to just "core" the factory muffler and put it back on. I have heard JHardwick's truck (who did this), and it was a sweet sweet sound outside with no change in interior noise. :)

I second on the Aeroturbine. Well, it WAS a Banks before I took the muffler out. With the AT about 12" behind the downpipe it sounds GOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!

I'm suppose to get my 04. 5 this week. I already have the aeroturbine. The question is,... . do I mount it b-4 or after the cat? I'll do away with the stock muffler. If after the cat, what do you think about an adapter flange to put it immediately right after the cat? Suggestions pls.

You think it sounds good with an auto, try it with a 6 speed! I got a serious Kenworth sound going on up here! The kids at the school where I work tell me it sounds like a log truck.

Now if I could only get some smoke to go with it..... :D

Why not put it IN PLACE OF the cat! If you want to keep your cat then put it immediately after.

How many have tuned there front pipe, allowing for straight shot to the rear pipe? If so how hard was it to do??

Or would you recommend buying the Muff elim kit from Genos?

TIA

I turned my pipe. It was easy. However the truck was less than a week old.

Nick,

Did you use a MEK from Geno's? Most people I hear from say that when they straight piped their trucks, it sounded like a ford with that hissing type popping sound. I guess the pilot injection changed the sound of the exhaust. You're saying that it sounds good though? Does it sound like a 2nd gen with a straight pipe? If not, what's the difference?

Just got my truck back from muffler shop, MAGNAFLOW straight through, sounds sweet, some drone but I LOVE it, oh yeah funny thing too, muffler shop guy said when he took the cat off and set it out of the way someone stole it? Can you guys believe that!

Does removing the cat have much affect on performance, fuel mileage and does it affect your warranty? I have a straight on my 600 and it sounds sweeeeet!!! It has a little drone but not bad. still has the cat but I'm thinking about getting rid of It.

If you could see the inside of that thing you would want to take that thing off ASAP big restriction, dont be throwin it out though. as for warranty, I dont know probably wouldnt be to appealing to DC, or EPA, mileage ill let you know, and for power a little more SOP feel on high end.

I think my truck sounds awesome. Im thinking that my edge ez changed the exhaust not alittle bit to make it sound better (not sure though)

Q

I just installed my new exhaust system yesterday. Sounds great and is 4" from turbo back. I purchased a T-407 system.

Check out the muffler on this system http://www.dieselperformanceparts.com/dodgess2.html It's basically a straight pipe system. The sound is throaty and sounds like a diesel. No thumbs up yet but I've only had it for a day.

I changed my EZ from level 3 to level 4 because the truck felt less responsive than with the stock exhaust. My question is am I'm just imagining things or does the turbo spool up slower with less exhaust restriction? I purchased the exhaust to keep EGT's down and that it did. Has anyone else experienced what I'm experiencing?

I got my Q answered. I revisited an article in issue 41 and in theory my responsiveness should be greater with my new exhaust system and existing turbo. So its just in my head. My tires do break loose easier now.
