To all of you who have electric valves on your air horns where did you get them? I'm going to have to replace my second one from Rickson Truck Acessories now, and I don't feel like throwing another $20 away on one. Granted they last usually 2 yrs but I wonder if anyone knows where to get one that's durable for the same price? I have a manual valve that I'm going to convert to eventually, but I'm still planning out how I'm going to run the air line into and back out of the cab.

I removed my 4x4 lever cover and plate and bored a hole there. Fed the lines in from the front of the cover. This is a Third Gen but it's an idea.

Hoot I'm thinking of taking my valve which is small in size, and bolting a long piece of metal to it then attaching it to my center console frame. EDIT: Never mind found your other pics

There are several electrical solenoids that will run air horns... . most of the industrial designs are in the $60-80 range... . we've used these designs for years and have never replaced one..... (our own trucks)

the key here is to get one with large enough volume to supply the demands of air horns... . the port size of the valve is not the key factor here. . what CFM it will supply is what your looking for... .

Hope this helps. .

I went to a truck parts/accessory store and got some bulkhead air fittings. I drilled two holes in the transmision hump where I instaled the fittings for a Graham White loco horn valve (not cheep $150. 00) that I mounted in my cb radio box. 1/2" air in 1/2" air out to the K5HA thats mounted where the spare tire used to be. Very very loud. :D It's good to see other loco horn blowers out there. Yo Hoot, what kind of compressor are you using?

Hoot has a tank of Nitrogen. Nice thing with that is you don't follow a nice blast with the noise of a compressor.
