Is the MPG suppose to be real time - I mean if you stomp on the go peddle it goes down? If so what happens when you are at a stop light - does the MPG show ZERO as it should since you're not moving?

It shows average mpg so if you reset it at a stop light, it'll read 0. 0 until you start moving. The gauge doesn't show real time mpg.

Correction. The 2nd gen overhead computers have an instanious (sp) MPG display and an average MPG display. The 3rd gens only have the average display. The instanious display will read 0 when stopped and up to 99 MPG coasting down a hill.

Not to mention the fact that the average MPG display is not even close. Mine has been reading 17. 0 for 3 weeks. I hand calculated the last two tanks and I get 14. 675. Guess there must be something wrong with their calculations. Its still bone stock. Cant wait to see what kind of MPG it gets when it has a chip on it.

Bone Stock it reads the CURRENT AVG MPG So it can give you what you getting at that moment. I use it as an avg reading for some things, but I always hand calc mileage anywhy. As a Beta tester it can give me a general idea of what I'm getting, but the hand calc is the key to true readings. My old SP Diesel Box would NEVER read above 18. 1 no matter what I did. . The 2nd generation of thier box (with less then a 100Miles burned on a new tank of fuel) read over 20. 5 on the overhead for the very first time. Accurate? not sue, but sure as heck an improvement on the overhead. The 2nd seneration of boxes is no available yet, but just to give you an idea their first generation of boxes went 188 Stock 422 Full on Box 05 2500 SWB according to the new owner of my old box, it runs " Like a raped ape at only 1/2 the power it can give" I'm waiting to see what SP Diesel can do with the new box..... I'm thinking I may need more mods to the drivetrain.

I reset mine at every fill up. Then I hand calculate at the next fill up based on how many gallons I put in it and the overhead is always accurate. Usually within . 5. In order for it to be accurate you have to reset it at every fill up. It averages your MPG for the entire tank. So if you're showing 17 MPG on your overhead and you've used a half tank. You got 17 MPG average for the amount of fuel you've already used.

You learn something every day. I have just reset mine on fill up... ... ... ... ... . $94. 00... . WOW. Seems like every time I fill up its like... a different world. Guess I'm not the only one paying this. I have also started a new fuel concotion to see if I can improve on my 14. 71 mpg. mixture of Marvels Mystery Oil, and Diesel Service's DieselKleen. We will see how it helps. My brother is simultaneously trying the addition of Acetone (He has a 12V, dont know if I would try that with the new pump). We will see if this helps with any MPG's.

Thanks for the suggestions.
