Thanks to the steady responders on this forum. Most of my info comes from daily reading, not posting, so I try to do a once a year thank you to the folks who never miss a chance to solve a problem. I'm sort of a cheater, because my "first gen" is in a motorhome, but it does run better and better thanks to TDR. (Next trip to Oklahoma)

That's not cheating! We have Michigan Don and Don in Texas that have motorhomes. As long as you have a Cummins with a VE pump, you're welcome here. :D

Yeah JGolden, stick around, we might have to gang up on the rest of em. I am in the process of trying to buy a 93 350 dually Dodge just to keep my credibility up to date here.

You know that offer is still good in that if you want to make the drive to NW Ct, I'll be happy to help you mess up... er, I mean "power up" that rig of yours.

Don, I have the 545 Allison but was told there was no way to add a gearVendor. I do have a driveshaft brake, maybe that is the problem. Let me know how yours works. thanks

We don't see many of these driveshaft brakes. I'm curious and I'll bet a lot of other folks are as well.

What's your opinion of yours? If you have exhaust-brake experience on another vehicle, can you compare them?

Any mfr data would be welcome, just for research... (who knows?).

I wasn't clear on that. I was talking about a driveshaft park brake. Mounted at the rear of the transmission.

The type I think you mean are the electro mechanical retarders that act on the drive shaft. I was told they work well if no salt used in the area, that lets me out. There was a company that put a discbrake on the drive shaft but haven't see them advertised in a while.

We had electromagnetic driveline retarders on some of the garbage trucks at work. Think huge, heavy, expensive. They will also send you for a ride in the rain, they advise you turn them off on wet roads.
