Cruise lines

Driver and passenger BOTH sitting in the driver's seat?

They're either both really skinny or that's one big seat!

I've had more drivers chuckle, giggle, or point and laugh at my 'Cummins Power' cab badge on the diesel Beetle than anything else. Back when the stack was on the 2500, they didn't know what to think of it - they didn't realize it was even functional until I hit the soot pedal..... then they gave the thumbs up!

Matt, when you gonna put twin stacks with propane fed flames shootin out of them on the Beetle?

Then you wont be able to decide what to drive to the NE get togethers!

The first thing Dad said when he brought me to the dealer to pick up the 'yellowjacket': "It looks like you'll have a hard time putting a stack on this one... "

I said: "I consider that a challenge!"

If I ever find rear plastics for that car - cheap like..... you'll see a 3" tip out on it... . I won't need propane flames... the soot coming out will be enough to raise a few eyebrows. :D

Matt

IF YOU GO OUT OF YOUR WAY 15 MILES JUST SO YOU CAN DRIVE YOUR STRAIGHT PIPED CUMMINS THROUGH A TUNNEL, AND BOOST SOMEBODY WITH THEIR WINDOWS DOWN.

I once drove through the Ted Williams tunnel ( I got lost in Boston - which isn't hard to do... and it was open for some reason... . ) with my 5" stright-piped stack. I was ALL SMILES! :D

Matt

Tunnels !

I do the same thing in the three tunnels at the head of the Windriver Canyon in Wyoming every time we go through.

Before I ran the 4", the kids used to want to roll the windows down and honk all the way through. Now, we take turns. They get the horn on one tunnel and I get the pedal to the metal on the other - what a rush - especially if another car is in there at the same time! :--)

The marina where I keep my boat literaly takes big a$$ cabin cruisers, cuts the transom off them and adds 6,8,10 or how ever many FEET you want to the thing, slaps the transom back on and presto!! custom stretched boat. If they can work that kind of fiberglass magic I bet they can make any custom body panel you want to install your TWIN stacks on the VW.

I bet they'd take on that project during the fiberglass shops slow season this summer!

Now you have no excuse not to Stack the Bug!!!!:D

Unless... ... your not the diesel drinking diesel head you claim to be... ... hmmmm;)

Mark:

I'm not looking to customize the whole body... . just a little rear fender action. The best way to accomplish putting a stack on it would be to buy a whole rear plastic assembly from a Junky... . and slap it on... . that way I'll have the original one to put back on after the cops hassle me for having a stack on a VW Beetle! :D :D

Matt

Stack on a VW Beetle. SWEEEEEET!!!!

My voice-mail message on my cell phone is something like that.

Recite the following in your best back woods deliverance sqeal-like-a-pig type voice:

" Hello Y'all this is Don, I caan't cum to the phone rait now. I'm autside helpin' Maw put smoke stacks on the minivan. Jus leave me a message an I'll be callin Y'all rait back":--)

Time to search the junkies... .

See what happens when I put my ideas on the internet?

Mark (and everyone else... ) encourages me to spend more $$!

On edit: My '89 Plymouth Voyager minivan has a 2. 5L Turbo 4-banger in it with a 3" downpipe... it sounded NICE! (before I blew it up... haha)

89 voyager with downpipe:rolleyes:

I had a buddy who had a 88ish voyager that was MANUAL shift:--)

I think it had 1 belt on the engine, no brakes, someone puked on the dash and it ran into the vent. so it stunk like yak:( whenever he turned the heat on.

But man it would cruise across a cornfield at about 70. :D :D

Just hope you didn't have to stop real quick!

... . what the Plymouth Voyager was designed for.....

Make me a car that will stand up to cornstalks. Make me a box of a vehicle that cuts through the corn. Make it go like green corn goes through the new maid... ... ... ... ... ...

Merrick... . that was the first turbo car/truck I ever owned (... and still own... ).

The neat part was the boost cut out. With a turbo nearly twice the size of the original... . it would overboost past the OEM limits in no time... . the ECM would cut the fuel... . and then it would come back on..... with a glorious burst of flames from underneath the van. Too many burnouts across the parking lot on a 148k mile turbo 4-banger ruined the lower end... . they are cheap to rebuild, though. :D

Matt

... you get home from a 600 mile journey and immediately begin installing new goodies on a turbo diesel.

What better way to finish an Easter Sunday celebration? :D
