Saw a truck yesterday that I thought deserved a second look. Here is the first pic...

So then I looked at the pipping under the truck to see if he ran the pipes under or above, and how it looked. The first thing that came to mind was, "So I guess the drivers side isn't hooked up". Then I thought, "You might be a redneck if... . ".

It might be hard to see in that pic, bit the plumbing for the second pipe was blocked off by some rags, and duct tape. THAT'S IT!!!



Them Ferd boys, they suprise me more and more all the time.

Blocked off or connected? Looks like it might be a factory installation. Maybe he could use a beer can from the bed to really do it right.

The passanger side is connected, the drivers is blocked.

You can tell by the soot on the drive shaft the rags arent doing to good of a job.

maybe the drive shaft isn't doing a good enough job throwing the soot onto the ground.

I thought that it was a ground clearance indicator. If you bottom out the soot comes out the back instead of the top & the rag/flag flies out to indicate the truck has reached minimum asphalt tolerence specifications????? Maybe I'm just stupid

Is it just me, or does the angle of the plumbing look like it would feed water right into the muffler from those open and vertical stacks?



Just a thought from someone who saw 14" of rain last month...

Hmmm... no muffler? At least the turbo will keep the water out...

There was a muffler. It had lots of rust holes, but it was there.

A bit off topic, but a couple of years ago I was listening to the "One Minute Maintenance Tip" on the Midnight Cowboy Truckin' Show" (WBAP 820-AM) and heard what I thought was the most interesting of the series. Naturally, it dealt with the big rigs. The tip was that if you are ever towed (hookup from the rear axle) to make sure you plug the open end of the exhaust. If you don't, and are towed backwards the air rushing down the exhaust can cause the turbo to freewheel. When the turbo freewheels and the engine isn't running there ain't no lubrication on the bearings.
