Low Cost Alternative To Driving Our Dodge CTDs

At least he didn't use PVC or water pipe. Judging by the cheap beer cans in the bed he can't afford to plumb in the other side yet. Hopefully he bought good quality duct tape.

The tip was that if you are ever towed (hookup from the rear axle) to make sure you plug the open end of the exhaust. If you don't, and are towed backwards the air rushing down the exhaust can cause the turbo to freewheel. When the turbo freewheels and the engine isn't running there ain't no lubrication on the bearings.

Ever watch a Jet engine while the plane is setting on a ramp, if the wind is blowing it's turning... ... no oil also and bearing failures on a jets are extremely rare.

Gee, I wonder if there's a connection between the rust and the open vertical stacks?

A bit off topic, but a couple of years ago I was listening to the "One Minute Maintenance Tip" on the Midnight Cowboy Truckin' Show" (WBAP 820-AM) and heard what I thought was the most interesting of the series. Naturally, it dealt with the big rigs. The tip was that if you are ever towed (hookup from the rear axle) to make sure you plug the open end of the exhaust. i was preached the same thing when i was in school. there were 2 options to fix it. one was to cap the stacks, and another was to cap off the intake. both ways work. the problem is caused by the valve overlap iirc
