The wifes s-10 blazer is going south, what do you guys have for your wifes commuter, Honda,Toyota,Nissan,VW, must be econo. This has to be her last new car, as she only has so many years to work! I'd appreciate your opinion if you can spare it. Thanks fellas. Tim
VW Jetta TDI. It is spendy up front, about 22-25K, but it gets 45+ MPG even with an auto transmission. It would be my first choice for an econo cruiser.
I can't beat the mileage of the VW Jetta, but my wife's car is a '99 Dodge Stratus ES, 2500 V6, auto, power windows, power mirrors, am/fm/cassette, 33mpg at 75 mph. It was a Budget Rental and we got it with it was 1 year old with 25k miles on it for $12k. Been a great car.
