How to install B&D short shifter-05, NV5600

It seems to me that a ring & pinion gear change would be the answer. Maybe a set of 3. 55,s?

Does anybody make them for the AAM differentials?
 
06 4x4 stock dully just over 30K miles, and tow at just under 26K lbs





Love it, when loaded, seems to be a great match for the load and the engine.





empty, its a toss up, would like a 7th gear, speed limits here are 60 some 70 but not much, anyways if you drive fast you will burn a lot of fuel, over 65



starting out is in 2nd gear, let out the clutch and she moves just fine, after that its a rocket ship to 3,000 rpm, shift, and rocktet to 3,000 rpm again. basicly you can't shift fast enough with the turbo lag then boost, but its a 9K lbs truck what do you expect ... a rice burner?



R is too tall, would love a lower R gear. Anybody? especially when loaded and backing up hill.
 
Liked it untill it threw the clutch at about 12k. Stock truck pulling about 7k lbs. One trip and no more clutch.



What's the best replacement clutch that isn't to agressive but might still handle at least the stock power, plus maybe a little more later?
