Just had my new Ram sprayed by Ziebart with their sound deading spray.

Big mistake. They sprayed everything under the truck. The emergancy brake adjuster, fuel lines, gas filler. rear end including the bolts and fill hole,springs,shackels,U-bolts,frame. and I'm not sure what else.

If I ever have to work on anything under the truck I will have to clean off the tar first.

They best part is it isn't any quieter than before.

Just a heads up guys. Be careful what you ask for. You may get more than you want(or pay for)

Similar experience with our new 2001 Durango... had it done at the dealer so it wouldn't void any Dodge body panel warranty. Took about 4 - 5 hours of elbow grease to remove the overspray and goo that had dripped out of the hood panels, bottom of the doors and rear hatch. Don't know what they used, but it looked like honey with the consistency of axel grease. In their haste to get it inside the passenger door, they caught the water/dust seal on the bottom of the door and tore it loose. Some of the stuff dripped out on it and now I can't get it stick in place again. WD-40 was the only thing that would cut it!! Sent the dealer a nasty gram in the mail and they "graciously" offered a free first oil change... fat chance on them getting it.

They appeared to be pretty careful about the undercarriage spray job. All of the adjustment loops on the emergency brake cable looked like they had been masked during the application.

Gene, my 2001 came from the factory (Mexico) undercoated from the cab forward. Only thing they missed was the back panel under the rear window. I thought all the Ram diesels were that way in 2001?

I thought Zeibart went by the wayside years ago.

IMHO it's going to rust faster now. All that crap does is cause rust by traping moisture. Used to be a big thing back in the late '70's. I know it will never be on my truck. Just my 2 cents.
