Competition Electric Water Pump

Competition Which turbo.... again?...

I have been running the stage 2 set up since last April. I have @ 25,000 miles on it with no complaints.

My truck is still in diapers compared to others on here, but for a daily driver it works just fine.

This is posted in the competition forums, Zoom does not advertise the clutch for sled pulling or drag racing. For that you would need a South Bend or Haisley's.

Contact Gary Croyle at Perfection Cutch. He is a great guy and will be more than willing to answer your questions

Tell him Anthony with the Mid-Tenn TDR sent you his way.

I wouldn't run a zoom if ya gave me a whole truck load of e'm. Had to buy three of them for a 355 ci small chevy before i got one that would work!!! first two installed did not release. with the clutch pushed could not get in gear . so upon disasembly i mesured the finger height distance 'borg and beck' has three fingers and not one of them was the same one was . 650 thousands lower and would not release a third of the clutch. the adjusting nut is welded at the factory, and when i got one that worked is was so jerky taking off i said **** on it and swaped a stock one back in. A matter of fact I ran in to a rep at a show and asked him about the zxt new clutch and he said it was the best ... ... . and asked him about sled pulling he said no way is it intened for abuse like that. He never herd of south bend and there great products or great service??

Clutch Issues

Just a comment from my desk. The entire clutch industry has suffered from incorrect installations of the classic GM RWD release bearing to fork ever since the system was introduced. For those of you that have never installed a GM RWD clutch (pre 1996) you can put the bearing on the fork about 4 different ways, only one of them will work and release the clutch, doesn't matter what brand. The complaint is always, no release. We put a bulletin in the sets to explain the correct method. Welding the lever adjusting nut has been around since these clutches made it to the aftermarket. It is there to lock the lever height and prevent individuals from "tweaking" the adjustment. Another general comment, you can only measure finger tip height when the clutch and disc have been bolted in place and exercised to settle the fingers into position. We have customers try to do it on the parts store counter all the time, it can not be done.

FWIW I quit buying any GM product back in 1986 because the paint came off like it was peeling. I think GM has changed their painting method since then.

If anyone has any questions related to any Perfection Clutch or ZOOM product lines, out Tech Support desk and my desk are available.
