Wow Phat Shaft is the only way to go!!!

ATS manifold improved capscrews?

Decided to dial in the boost on the twins, and at 2300 RPM and 51 psi, the engine walked right through the old South Bend CON FE!!!!

hard to tell. . this clutch has a few miles on it!!!!

Any suggestions as to what to go with next? Gonna have to wait a while in order to pay off the Visa from the twin buildup

The runs before this was only 40 psi with 15 from the primary... and only 491 HP, and 1030 in TQ oh, and <1200F in EGT!!!! fyi, the dyno recorded the boost from the primary... . making boost by 1550, 4psi at ~1700. . full tilt from there up.

Bumped the boost on the primary to 18 and then bumped the secondary to make 51 at the intake... . then all hades let loose!!! I really need to plumb the wastgate into the downpipe!!! It makes so much noise, you can not hear if anything is going wrong!!

just checked the old maintenance book

the clutch has a skosh over 142,000 miles on it!!!!

A few trips down the track, and about 7 hooks!!!

She is due!!

Why not another FE? It appears to me that your clutch WORE out, as opposed to having its limitations exceeded.

Sledpulling is hard on daily driver clutches.

You could always go with a mild DD.

Or one of those sweet new Luk Pro Gold clutches:D

What ever happened to the FEW, the FE with the weighted fingers that supposedly have more clamping?

supposedly the weights were coming loose and causing damage. I believe they discontinued them till they fixed the problem.

The big issue I see with weights on the prerssure plate is...

For them to be effective on an engine that makes peak Tq at or under 2K rpm, they would have to be so big as to make shifting suck real bad at 3000 rpm.

Remember, clutches hold TQ... not HP

Exactly. With that kind of penalty, why not step up to a DD?

Eventually we'll get an Iron Giant that shifts like a Con O, but it's still in R&D:)

Did someone say *triple* disc clutch :--)

Damn... I need to stay up with these new developments... ...

So far, I have ~80K miles on my Con 01 FE, and maybe 20 passes down the 1/4 mile, but no sled pulling... and mine is holding strong. Of course I don't have anywhere near the HP or TQ that you do.....
