Best price for Bilsteins or Ranchos?

My truck is an 06 SRW 4WD LB... . I want either the Bilsteins or the Rancho 9000 adjustable... I will buy whatever is cheaper, either locally or shipped to 98391. I know some websites offer Ranchos at 4 for the price of 3 on occasion, not sure who or when (what time of year, etc. ) eShocks doesn't seem to carry the bilsteins for my 06? Genos has them for about $80 each I think? I might even consider the Edelbrock shocks if the price was right. Any help would be appreciated!

Keep in mind that the Rancho's and Bilsteins are 2 completely different shocks with different design and functional characteristics. I have had both on my '03 and much prefer the Bilsteins. I'm sure that Rancho will have a buy 3 get 1 free deal soon, so you may want to hold out. I bought my Bilsteins HERE Wait until they have a 10% off sale, which is every other day.

My truck came with Ranchos that the previous owner had just put on before I bought the truck... . I did not like them at all, they went in the trash 1500 miles later.



I put Bilsteins on and they are much better IMO. I hit them with a some black paint (cant stand colored parts under a truck) and all is good.

I have a 2006 Mega Cab, 2500 , 4 x4 and got the Bilsteins from Geno's, the ride is phenomenal. Dodge need to put these as standard shocks and believe me they would sell more trucks. Spend your money once and get the Bilsteins from Geno's.

Do not use Rancho!!!!!!!!!! They are garbage!!!!!!!! When I switched to Bilstein from Rancho not only did my truck handle better, The death wobble also went away.

Who cares about the price of the Bilstein equipment!!!!!!!!! After you buy two or three or four sets of Rancho stuff, you will have purchased ( and then some) the entire cost of ONE set of Bilstein shocks. That you will most likely never need to replace. Baring some one removing them from your truck against your will, or your truck is involved in a wreck and suspension components get damaged. I suffered through the mistake of buying ranchos ( 3 sets ) for my 99' dodge, I thought that I was getting a deal because I have a friend that was working at a performance parts place in Vegas ( slightly discounted pricing, and easy exchanges). I should have bit the bullet the first time and put the Bilsteins on the truck. then i wouldnt have had to tear the truck apart 4 times before getting it right . I installed the Bilsteins on the truck then proceeded to put 100K on them without a hitch. NEVER had any complaints from the shock absorption department. The steering is another subject. I will have a set of Bilsteins ordered for my 06 next week. I cant wait!!!!!!

Had Rancho 9000's on my 2003 3500 and was not pleased at all (seems they are made for Gas engines not diesels), even had to go back to the OEM for the fronts. They weren't making the re-valved (with Kent Kroeker's help) Bilsteins from Geno's yet.





If I remember right the Rancho 9000's were about 60-70 apiece (not cheap) not much different than the Bilsteins from Geno's 79 +shipping.



Can't be more pleased with these Bilsteins, hell take the OEM's off save then put the Bilsteins (from Geno's) on don't like them send them back.

Just called them in California and they are finally available for the 05 4x4 3500, the girl there gave me these part numbers

BE5-C604-HO for the fronts

and

BE5-C614-HO for the rears

ALWAYS better to spend the $$$ right the first time then have to buy another set after you hate the rancho's - spend a little bit more the first

time around and be happy and be done with it ...

i have bilstein's going on next weekend at massdiesel and i got the better one's than the 5100's - i'll report back with results after they are onOo.

I wouldn't put Rancho's on a 2500 again.

Rancho 9000's worked great on my '96 1500 4x4, but I didn't know how bad they were on my 2500 until I took them off and put on 5125 Bilstiens. After 90k miles, the compression side of all the Ranchos were totally gone. The only good side of the Ranchos was the lifetime warranty. They ended up being worth more dead than alive. I would classify the Bilstiens as the sports car feel shocks for our trucks, definitely in a good way. I think these trucks are just too heavy for the Ranchos to handle.

The 5125's are for custom applications, such as the V10/diesel 2500/3500 at stock and varying lift heights. Throw a rock and you will hit someone that will take credit for the valving. I don't really care how it was developed other than they seem to work quite well.
