My cruise control has worked perfect since installing the switches back in november/december cant remember exactly. No jerking & works with the dealer installed Jake brake as well no problems coming out of the sierra mountans from Reno to Sacramento area these are some pretty good down hills & the cruise has worked like i would expect it to

Well, as I stated: I get an accel when it slows descending a hill and as soon as it goes to fast, it decels, then it accels to catch back up, then decels because it is going too fast... and this is quick: errr, unnn, errr, unnn, errr, unnn... enough to make you seasick.

Maybe it was just having a bad day??? Other than that, it works flawlessly.

Well I'm digging up an old thread here, but have a customer with a 2003 2500 Cummins Auto truck with no cruise. Has anyone done this on the '03? I'm also seeing 2 different part #'s being shown on different threads.

Part # 56049379AC

#56049378AD

and on the other thread

Part # 56049379AB

56049378AB

Can anyone tell me which #'s and does this work on the '03? He does have the blanks in his steering wheel. Thanks

They are the same number, just different "updates"... the AC/AD number are updated parts... and probably better, since they typically redesign for a reason.

I found the cause of this surging to be bad injectors...

Well guys, I did my research on TDR and decided to try to install a cruise control on my 2002 dodge cummins 5-speed. I concluded that I would need a clockspring with cruise leads on it and the 2 switches for the steering wheel. After purcashing these items on E-bay I disconnected the batteries, I pulled the steering wheel with a puller and went to work on the clockspring. It came off after disconnecting the CAN BUS connector, horn wire, and the flat plug that is plugged into the bottom of the clockspring. Had to release two plastic clips on clockspring. I had to thread the holes for the cruise control switches before I could mount them on the steering wheel. After that I installed the wheel and plugged in the cruise control switches. Then, I reinstalled the air bag and reconnected the batteries. I drove it down the road and viola! worked great. I initially thought that I would have to add a cruise control light bulb in the dash but after consulting the FSM, I found that the light is almost hidden beneath the odometer. Turned on the cruise and there it was, burning brightly. All in all a VERY easy job. Thank you, TDR!!
