I noticeed that the link to Readers Rigs is no longer under the user names.

Actually it is, if you look in the profile box just under their username (if you have it collapsed then click on the down arrow next to their online status) and you'll see links there for the users old readers rigs gallery and the new photo gallery - those links will only be shown if the user actually has pictures in them.

is there an option in the forum software to limit the signatures in the posts like the old forum software had, so the sig only shows up once per thread page per person?? i don't see the need for everyones signature to show up more than once per thread page. .

Hmmm, no there isn't an option in the software but I already did the custom code to make that work and it's been installed from the get go. Where are you seeing people's signature's more than once on a thread? Look at this thread for instance and you'll only see my signature on the first post.

I clicked on the old readers rigs link for LePage & CumminsDoofus & nothing came up. I do have pictures in my readers rigs but no link is below my user name for old readers rigs gallery.

Oops - I had an error in the code, I was checking the user id of the user against the album id's instead of against the user id in the readers rigs gallery. It worked in testing by pure luck. It's fixed now - thanks for catching that.

Your welcome. Also noticed that there is no way to manage the readers rigs under user control panel.

That's because modifications to the readers rig section have been turned off - you can't add or remove any pictures from the readers rigs section now. We've kept it for historical purposes so that all of the posts that are on the site that are linking to those pictures won't lose them. Any future pictures should all go through the photo gallery - there's a statement to that effect at the top of the reader's rigs gallery.

Multi-Quote

The much-requested multi-quote feature allows users to tag multiple posts that they wish to respond to by clicking a small button on each post. Once the user clicks the reply button, each tagged post is quoted.



To increase usability, by default, only posts within the current thread are automatically quoted. If you wish to quote posts in other threads with multi-quote, you simply need to click a link on the reply page, and the text of those posts will be added without a reload.

Icons in the ON position will be added when you click Post Reply Icon. There ya go: Multi-Quote Oo.

i guess i had a glitch of some sort. . i posted a reply to a thread that i had posted in, and my first post had the sig, and my 2nd post also had the sig. one was posted with the old software, one with the new. i checked that thread again and now there is only one sig in my first post??



oh well. i guess all is working good so far then eh?

My Netscape 7. 0 broswer freezes up when a click my bookmark. Have been using it for a few years and now with upgrade I can not log on with it. Internet Explorer works. Have even tried a search then clicking on new link. Still freezes up. What do you think is going wrong? Thanks, Tom

Hmm... pages seem to load much slower than before.



I submitted a post last night and the page hung up for 15 minutes before I gave up and closed the window (FireFox)... apparently, the post went through anyway.

I'm not sure what you mean by freezes up when you click on a bookmark. I just installed Netscape 7. 0 and I'm on it right now entering this message. I logged in no problem with it and browsed around the site. Perhaps you have some other problem with that browser that just happened?

There was a problem last night. If you look back you'll see where I talked about it - see post #17 on this thread. There was a query that was on the front page that was causing database locks and causing the database server to hang up for periods of time. I pulled that query last night and I have no indication of anything happening since then. Is it still running slow for you today?

That happened because of the inline editing and there's no way around it that I can find. If you edit a post or quick reply to a thread you'll see that the page does not reload completely now, it just adds your changes to the existing page - when that happens your signature is shown on that change even if it's already shown further up the page. Once you refresh the page though your signature will only be shown the first time.
