I'm not sure how to post a link (help me out computer guys. . ) but check out this ebay auction for a 98 12V QC-SB 5-Spd... . ebay item # 230093667522

POLL: how high do you think it will go? I've been watching it since day one and I figured 15-15. 5 tops... right now it's at $17,500 AND THE RESERVE'S NOT MET!!! I was not informed Dodge had the special gold plated option that year..... :-laf

Looks nice to me. I'd pay 17000 for it... **** some of the 1st gen guys that their old *** trucks are worth that.

actually to me, the frame looks pretty clean. Who cares if they rattle canned the frame. i do that to mine 2 times a year. Thanks to the crappy salt they toss on the roads all winter long, i have to to keep it lookin good and to knock down the progress of the rust some.

Thats a damn clean looking 98 from the pictures, and only has 71k miles on it!!!

Now, would I pay thta much for a 9yr old truck? HELL NO, but thats just me.

I think the mileage of 71,500 is helping push it up, plus I think more and more people are aware of the desirability of the '98 12v.

That truck was built very close to the end of the 12-valve era. . . rolled off the assembly line on Dec. 22, 1997 at 2200 hrs.

Don't care how low the mileage is, a truck that is nine years old will be having a lot of age related issues. Time is hard on rubber, wiring, electrical system, seals, foam, fabric, plastic, vinyl, etc. It won't be a problem free truck. Believe me, I speak from experience! I wouldn't pay more than $10,000 for a truck that old, probably less.

I have a 1996 Dually that I would not take a dime under 14500 for it, it has 91,000 miles and I have owned it since brand new!! 5 speed!

My question on this is: How the hell does he know the air blows cold from the air conditioning? There's friggin snow on the ground, any air is going to blow cold... What a moron. I'd be embarrassed to pay that much for this truck. NADA puts a value on the truck at 15575. Now I know the 12v 98 was more desirable than the 24v, but I don't understand why... My 98 24v has more power, is the same truck, but gets better economy and has more power. I know there's issues with the LP, but outside of that, they are exactly the same truck. 18100, thats downright ridiculous!

Saw a 2nd gen 12v 3500 dually in McAllister, OK at Key Equipment, with supposedly 19k miles on it. Looks like a consignment. They are asking, IIRC, $17. 9k. Reg cab, 4x4, 5spd and hauler bed.

Bed needs to be blasted and painted, a few spots on the hood where the paint needs touched up, and a new wheel skin and center cap on the front RH side. The pocket with the g/n ball needs to be repaired.

I guess they're worth what some one will pay, as with any thing. I knew that one would go high, but I never dreamed THAT high! I have a 96 X-Cab 4X4 with 113K on it and I hope I can find some of the same folks when I go to sell it!

Maybe some think it is more desirable because there are very few things that will keep it from running,or because w/out spending a dime on power upgrades it Will blow by your Van AAken boxed 24v,or maybe cause the owner won't ever have to buy an injection pump or,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:-laf :-laf

I have both electronic and mechanicle trucks, guess which one will last longer;)

don't forget what a new truck costs. you can do alot of upgrading and rebuilding and still be way ahead of the game. Want to talk about ridiculous,

crazy etc... ... ..... how bout the new fords 50k+ for 350, almost 60k for 450 and thats with the unproven 6. 4
