I've been following the progress of Mel, Pete and others waiting for their trucks to arrive. And finally decided to join TDR. TDR has been an awsome resource and I'd like to thank everybody here for posting up.
I ordered my truck on 2/7 and it was loaded on the rails in Saltillo on 3/13. it then left Laredo on 3/25. It was finally unloaded from the railcar last night in Benicia CA. I hope it doesn't remain there as long as my friends did!
My buddy just took delivery today of his 3500 QC 6. 7. It had been sitting in the very yard where mine is sitting now for two weeks +. He ordered his over three weeks before I did. My experience just getting the truck ordered was something else. I called several dealers in the Bay Area trying to get a quote over the phone the first two weeks in January, and no one would do it. They all wanted me to come down and test drive thier 5. 9L. I told them I had driven the 5. 9 and it was a great truck but I want the 68RFE trans. The 3 dealerships I called wouldn't even return my calls, seems they just wanted to sell me whatever they had in inventory. After a few frustrating weeks my buddy told me he had ordered his from Red Bluff Dodge up north so I called them. Mr. Gil Light faxed me a sheet with all the options available, I called him back telling him what I wanted and he faxed back a price sheet with the FWP price and told me about the Farm Bureau discount. No hassles, answered what questions he could and if he didnt know he didn't BS me, he went and found out. Awsome. A pleasure to deal with. Another co-worker is pulling the trigger on a QC with Gil at Red Bluff Dodge tomorrow morning. We are going to need a bigger parking lot here at the firehouse with these big CTD's out front!! BTW all three of us are converting over from Ferd!! Now if I could just get my hands on my truck..... Oo.
