A couple of months ago, l tried out the Bullydog TD program for a few days but decided not to purchase it. Immediately after leaving the shop, I noticed the truck sounded different (kinda like a gasser) and drove as if it had something above stock hp. I also noticed the egt's would climb faster and higher than normal. In other words, I might see 1150-1200F at wot, but now, it comes on much quicker and as high as 1250-1275F. I went back to the shop that installed it and was told the stock program was successfully downloaded. Since then, I've checked for exhaust leaks and even took it to the dealer for diagnosing. Long story short, I did find one leak at a clamp (about 5' from the downpipe) and fixed it. The service department indicated everything was okay during the diagnostic check; they even took care of a tsb while I was there.
To this day, the truck still does not sound the same and egt's are higher than normal. However, power feels like stock again. Would removal of the boost elbow (supplied with the Edge EZ) be the cause for higher EGTs? I ask because the shop that installed the BD damaged the threads when removing it and now I am running the stock elbow. Thanks in advance, James.
