I agree, after reading all the comments on youtube regarding anything automotive I realize that it must be the highest concentration of uneducated loudmouths anywhere. Funny how their truck of choice is usually a powerjoke... . Occasionally someone pops up and knows some intelligent though, but thats more the exception than the rule.

True on both aspects. You can try to educate the ingnorant, but they have to be openminded enough to accept the lesson. And like most online forums/blogs, whatever, freedom of speech is just that, the freedom to say whatever you want, even if it is typed so illegibly that you can't read it!:-laf

And the Cummins fans aren't innocent either, there are a few badseeds in every group that are so biased that it is impossible to have a reasonable, adult conversation with them. I've just come to accept those youtube comments as what they are, cheap entertainment, sometimes they turn a mediocre video into somethin worthwhile. Jason, keep up the good posts, I always enjoy the stuff you find online! Or Comp, kinda like the guy with the stock powered ranger/s10/dakota with 12" of lift and 44" tires, but stock gear ratio that still tries to race you?:-laf

Back to the original reason for the post, that truck is stupid loud for how fast it goes. It says it has an LS-1, which if I'm not mistaken, is the motor they use in the 97-04 Corvettes and the 98-02 Camaros/Firebirds. With as much noise as that things makes (on a normally much quieter engine) it should be a lot faster IMO.

I should of read the description. Tho that sure as heck doesn't sound like any LS1 I have ever heard. Must have a 5000rpm stall or something as well. .

Open headers can make alot of motors sound bigger than they are. My buddy in high school ran open headers on his Mustang GT for a few days and it sounded like a dragster coming in the parking lot every morning. A 13 sec 1/4 isn't bad though, a stock LS-1 in a Camaro wouldn't do those #s, a corvette might though.

According to an issue of Motor Trend I read a few years back, a stock Camaro SS would run mid 13s. Pretty fast for a stock car, I think. Granted, this 1500 Chevy is a bit heavier.

I stand corrected, I forgot about the SS, I was thinking about a Z28. 13 seconds is pretty quick for a pickup though, never said it wasn't. I know its faster than my truck in the 1/4, though I'm not sure by how much... .
