Is there a simple fix to cause the OD off button to work in reverse on a '94 4x4... Where the OD is always off until you push the button? I think this would suit my driving needs better.

Excuse my igorance if this has been covered a thousand times, I haven't found a thread with this info.

I know it has been done, but I can't remember how, or who. A simple device, as I recall.

From what I've heard, if you hold in the switch when you start the truck, it will keep O/D locked out, til you hit the switch again. Never tried it though.

I had one of those on mine for a while. It almost drove me nuts so I took it off. You can make the OD button easier to use by installing a shift lever off a '98 to '02 on your '94. It has the button on the end of the shift lever. Mine is from a '99.

Where did you find your shifter? Also, how did you wire the OD off override switch (the one that was driving you nuts?)

Thanks.

I got the shift lever at the local Dodge dealer.

The OD off override was a device that a friend gave me. Just a hunk of plastic with wires sticking out one end.

There is a picture of my dash in Readers Rigs that shows the shift lever.
