I have installed a stage 3 cp3 today and have a few questions.....

For thise that have it ... are you seeing a SIGNIFICANT pressure drop off the line ... like down to 2000-3000psi off the line??? My truck feels like it has serious turbo lag... and its the lack of fuel to the rail. Once the RPM's are to 1500-2000 the rail pressure is up and the truck pulls like a raped ape. Even at 60mph on the hwy and mash it the rail pressure drops to like 4000-6000psi (from 18000-20,000)and then raises... . ? Feed pressure to the CP3 is a constant 24psi and only drops about 1psi at WOT.

MY STOCK CP3 HAD A BETTER PULL OFF THE LINE. #@$%!

Is anyone else seeing this?

The vendor / builder has been contacted (after 1st test drive), and has suggested installing the stock FCA back in the stage 3 (dmax) pump. Please correct me but, is not the flow indicative of the inlet (FCA) flow and pressure? Or am I dreamin'? Is not a portion of the modifications to a CP3 flow the FCA modifications?

I tried pulling the EZ no change, tried all programs on the TST no change, ... . \

Any suggestions?

Came from the same place as yours... II ... not sure if the other guy is shipping his yet...

Cool... I havent installed mine yet waiting on money to buy a silver bullet... I will hopefully get eveything installed in June... I hope you get this problem figured out... I was also under the impression that the FCA was modded... Maybe their is something wrong with the FCA... Is there any codes?? What is the max rail pressures??

No codes... WOT I am seeing 25000-27000+++

I did not re-install the dual feed line... . could not get it to stop leakin... or any of the replacements...

Definately keep us all updated on this... . I hope it is something like a bad fca... Did you try the stock FCA??

Going to try the FCA from the stocker (under suggestion of the builder/modifyer) ... but that seems just wrong some how... . for what you pay for a modded pump...

If I were you I would just try it and if it works properly then send the old one in and have them send a new modded one over nite... .

i would suggest using the stock cummins fca on it anyway. i have heard that they work better. instead of the stage three we ended up doing the duel pumps.

to clarifie a few things, the stock dodge fca can handle extra input psi but the d-max one can not, so put a stock dodge fca on and you problems will go away, if they dont you have other issues. hope this helps.

Well stock fca helped a bit. Still dropping pressure like a stone off the line.

II have been working with me on this... They have been real stand-up guys an are stepping up to help get it fixed. Spent over an hour on the phone with a few people there.

Will post more once we figure it out...

does 24 psi of fuel pressure going to the cp3 seem a little low?? floor it diesel told me my stage 2 pump likes 40 psi or higher. I notice the more fuel pressure I fed it the better my truck runs

Putting too much pressure to the stage 3 causes problems... It runs best 20-24 ... So I have been told... .
