when you search, you have to change the timeframe from a month or whatever to from the beginning.

the default used to be a 'forever' time frame, but for whatever reason they changed it to try to reduce load on the server... so now what people do is use the search and then RE- do their search after changing the timeframe :(

Its a filter put on the crank case breather to seperate the oil from the crank case vapers & drains the oil back in the crank case threw a 3/8" hose to meet EPA standards (no oil on the ground)

How much do they cost? I have my hose extended below the axle, but still get some coverage on the bottom of the truck. Where do you purchase them?

This Jaz bottle is working good so far, as another option. I have about $100 in it.

For the mount, tust bend a piese of 1 inch flat bar into a z shape. Make a verticle slot that slides under the bumper support. Make two horizontal slots to slide the Jaz bottle into. The bottle comes with threaded mounting holes. I bought it from Jegs.

That is awesome... very good location! You wouldn't happen to have a part # would you? I was thinking of making one for my truck out of a vacuum canister & drilling a breather hole, but never have the time to do the fab work. If it can be had for $100... . I'll just order one & slap it on.

I've had the Enviroguard on my truck for 3 or 4 years now. It's one of the best things I ever put on the truck. No oil residue anywhere, no plugged radiator. Spend the money & do it, there are cheaper ways to do it, but the Enviroguard looks like a factory install.

I asked the local Cummins dealer about those and was told that they were intended for larger trucks with larger engines, and that there is not sufficient room in a Dodge to use one.

Is that wrong?

the early yr 24v motors have a flat screw-in plug on the timing cover with no outlet and is vented behind the stock location of the transfer pump. I installed the Enviroguard last year and no oil leaks, great product but pricey for some but for early yr owners it is a clean install.
Biggest hassle is the removal of the plug in the block. Different yr motors have various style plugs too, some are easy to remove some are not. Some have a lip on them so you can get a flat blade in there to pry. Some you may be able to thread a bolt in and get it to pull out. Some have locktite sealant you need to remove carefully.
On mine I removed the stock vent hose behind the lift pump and plugged it with a rubber plug and hose clamp. 12k miles and no problems so far and a dry garage floor. Couldn't be happier with the product and got it thru the local Cummins store.

Gordon,

There is actually an Envireguard application for the CTD in our truck. If the guy at Cummins can't figure it out, tell him to call Fleetguard. If it was intended for the big trucks, somebody FUBARed, because they did make one.

I have had the correct one on my truck for 3 or 4 years, works great.

Fleetguard Crankcase Ventilation Kit # CV50115 for Model Years 1998-2002 Dodge 5. 9L Application.
Cummins guy must be looking in the wrong catalog.
