got my new turbo and i am not thrilled with the lag or the temps

any of you compared the stainless 13 of theirs to the cast iron housings???

thanks, don

ps - it is a 62/65 s300 on a 12v

Waste of money..... marketing item just to sell more s300's over their main competition.

yep... ... . it's mostly a design problem, like wheel, shaft, and housing combo matching problem, not so much a material problem.

it looked good on paper, but things change very fast in the real world!

They do stand behind their products and will exchange housings if you ask. Believe me you wont be the first one unhappy with the SS especially on a 65mm wheel.

Turbo lag

It may or may not be the turbo. Lag can be caused by a lot of things. I have a whole shelf full of boxes and downloaders and they all will perform differently with the same turbo. It can also be the injectors,... are you too big or too small for the turbo you're running and then do you have the right fuel pressure and does it stay where you need it at all levels of need righ on through wot. Most turbo companies are familiar with their products and how they perform with what mods,... did you cover FULLY what you have and what your needs are and how you will use the truck,... if NOT then you probably got the wrong turbo (spec wise). Just a few things to think about. :D

I have the HTT Pro 66 with stainless (actually its a hybrid stainless) So far I am very happy, it has only been on a few weeks so far,
Rick

I couldn't be more happier with it either as well as the customers I have sold them to. Most people that have had lag and EGT issues have found it to be related to the wastegate settings or actuator.

So, did you guys quit running it on the race truck after the 11. 04 pass? Seemed to work pretty good that day

lloyd, are you blind?

Thats a standard silver bullet 66 and nothing more.

If it were stainless im sure it would have turned blue or purple from the egt's wade see's, all i (and everyone else there that day) saw was a brown and rusted casting.

Did you see something differently? or are you playing you usual guessing game???

funny Robert. ha ha. All i heard about on the trip to the strip was about the 16 cm stainless housing from Wes and how you all nick named it the "silver nugget". And I distinctly recall hearing Wade say he could not build boost on the line because of the big housing. As for looking at it, I never looked under the hood. There is nothing of interest there to me.

we had that thought but being that we only deal with industrial injection and no one else we went back with a silver bullet to save time, and get us back on the street.
