Well Bob, it's like this:

I don't "like" to type, but am willing to do what it takes to say what I want to say. This forum exists to function as an info-exchange, and the exchanging requires some thought(hopefully), some time and some words. Communication is not facilitated by anyone who proudly boasts "I can say less than you!" I can't help but notice that a great many of the points I raise go unanswered. Not-answering undoubtedly helps make one seem economical with words.

We all are "differently-abled". In my experience, the less articulate the participant, the less patience with any depth or complexity in the discussion. (That is meant as a general observation, not personally-directed. )

About the RRT.

Given your contacts, (as re-discussed in the PM I sent you this morning before reading this current post of yours), and since you have posted info about the RRT, ... I assume you have a copy.

If so, then the directions I gave you should very clearly direct you to the statement.

If you DO have (or have access to) a copy, yet you still insist that I "type out the line as written", ... consider my eyebrow raised.

I paraphrase the statement, rather than directly quoting it, because Dodge is very specific with their warnings about "re-producing" their copyrighted materials, (particularly those intended to be in-house only, ... i. e. "secret") and I want nothing to do with their lawyers (or anyone else's).

So,... I have not "reproduced' their words (and won't be baited into it ;).

Neither have I signed any NDA with Dodge (non-disclosure agreement), and so I am free to share whatever info I come across, in my own words.

To quote someone we both know, ... "Either you trust my info or you don't. "

The statement is where I say it is (at least on the copy I have received from my source), and it says what I say it says.

Heres what "I still say":

When/if you eventually become convinced (or will acknowledge, if you already know it) that this is true, I will be interested in what you think of such a policy.

But I have dragged horses to water before, who would not drink,... so I won't be holding my breath. :)

I do understand that some horses, due to their position in the industry, are between a rock and a hard place, regarding what they are free to discuss.

As for myself, I believe I have offered about all I can about the original subject of this thread ("Dealer wouldn't... ", etc. ), so will attempt to sit-out for awhile, until/unless someone has some fresh input.

I really prefer the on-topic discussion, rather than the personality-dissection of these most recent posts.

Best wishes as usual,

I apologize if this has been stated before as I didn't take the time to read all the posts. I don't have time right now. When an RRT comes out we have to perform the work on any not sold vehicles that are in stock before delivery can take place. Having said that, if a vehicle comes in for service and a VIP is printed out for that vehicle, the VIP will state if the RRT applies to the vehicle and it needs to be done if that is the case. A VIP is a printout by the vin that tells all the coverages and other info that the dealer needs to have attached to the work order to prove that the vehicle was in warranty at the time of the repairs. The printout also lists any recalls, etc that applies to the vehicle. If the RRT does not apply it will not be listed on the report for the specific vehicle. I hope this is clear enough for all of you as I am in a rush to get to an appointment at this time.

Dvd

I have not seen any language that says what you suggest. Please show me that quote.

There atre 3 tsb's that address issues that are 6. 7 specific iirc

18-033-07 revision b flash

11-002007 dpf repair procedures

11-003-07 turbo repair procedures (coming soon)

Next month there will be a dvd sent to dealers and 6. 7 owners to provide technical info on the operation of the aftertreatment systems and mainennance.

In the middle of Sept Dodge started calling customers with repeat repairs to ensure customers concerns have been resolved to their satisfaction

There is more but I really don't like typing that much

Maybe this info will let you RELAX a bit and enjoy your new truck.

Bob

What happened to the DVD? Did anyone get one?

Have not heard any changes? Who knows what goes on and how fast behind corporate doors

Dealers are only getting the recall modules at the rate of 5 per week no matter how many trucks they sold.

Bob

DVD's are still in process and will go first to dealers, then mailed to customers. And just as Bob indicated, RRT's are only for UNSOLD vehicles, TSB's or recalls in the case of the G30 apply for sold units.

When I had my truck in yesterday for the G30 Recall all I saw was a final receipt https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/1855849-post5.html and no VIP print out... they probably didn't show me the 'VIP' that had any TSB or RRT info on it, next time I will ask to see it. The build date on my truck was April of '07 so I would assume it needed the 18-003-07 (AV) reflash?

Got a good dealer myself here in Tulsa, seems to get me in and out asap. He is surprized on how much I know about these trucks. Of course if he drove one for a living and lived in it for 3 or 4 days a week. He would know a hell of alot more... ... Love the 6. 7 and the auto...
