JHarding, thanks for the quick pic! Your truck sure does look nice and based on your previous photo it definitely lights up the road. I can't wait to mount the Ute on my truck; I also got the torklift 2" front receiver where I can mount either a winch or a 10k tow hook. But that's another topic!

Jhardwick- I cant tell if those are HID?

Looks great, lots of protection

Actually, no. I didn't realize that they offered HID in the FF200.

I did buy some PIAA H-3 Xtreme white bulbs, and I feel like I wasted my money. These lights do so well that after running from Ohio through the upper mid-west down through Colorado and Las Vegas ... ... ..... back up through N Dakota and down through the upper mid-west to N Carolina, up the Maine and back to Ohio, I never once ran out of light. There was always a slight dip, or a slight curve before I would run out of light. They also do a good job of "filling in" where the factory lights leave off side-side.

I tried some of these, and have them for sale if anybody is interested. You could never run with these alone, but they really "fill in" when used in conjunction with the factory high beam. I liked the light they provided and I liked the styling to match my bumper, however, they were just too small and looked out of place on the big ole bumper.

CFish, that previous photo was from JKloppe, it's in my post because I quoted him ... ... I'll remove it.

Like I said when I mounted these lights, I hacked the harness up pretty bad. The longest run I needed was to the driver side battery, so I shortened everything, soldered and heat shrunk it. Then I jumped the switch completely out of the loop, and soldered the relay trigger wire right to the driver side high beam wire.

With the flick of the high beam switch on the turn signal stalk, I go from low beams with fogs to high beams with driving lights.

I just added the FF200's to my Ute Bull Bar and tapped the high beam wire to excite the relay. That leaves me with the factory Hella fogs in the stock location. I always have 4 foreward facing lamps burning this way.

I am surprised you find the OEM lows with fogs good. You must have better eyes than me.

I only supplemented the highs and not the lows and find it not good enough.

The lows don't seem to reach far enough and when I had fogs there was too much too close.

I ran across another HID kit here: Yada international - index

I know the reflectors are not designed for HID use but was kinda intrigued anyway so asked how "both" high and low work. They claim the lamp actually moves from a high to low position.

Their not. I messed with the aim and focus on the factory lighting, then messed with the aim of the Hella fogs in an "other than factory" location and called it good.

However, when I need light, I have it :D

JHardwick, I have googled and ask'd until the cows come home... I cannot locate your front bumper... would you be so kind to send a site or phone number or what ever, it is and impressive rig. THX PJ

Help! I'm trying to find the high beam wire to tap into for my driving lights. I have an '03 2500, any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

UPDATE:

The SEMA show release will unfortunately be a no go due to supplier issues. They have had to push the release back to December. I am looking to have another update in the next 2 weeks or so...

I am getting as anxious as everyone else to see the final product and results. I want to be able to have the lighting fixed for good when I get back through the house next.

I hate waiting on the next upgrade or toy!

Here's what I d id in the meantime. All Cibie lights form Dan Stern... Tango yellow fogs and Charlie 950's. . they are big and with 100watts BRIGHT!

The UTE bumper is great and all aluminum... out of production now as company got sold and changed its production to OEM stuff from Aftermarket TOO BAD! It is a nice bumper and lighter. I am getting a Buckstop rear bumper for xmas so I will be looking good.

Hope these NEW headlights are coming soon... I'd really like to know what the progress is ANT WORD YET????
