Question On EGT's

I went to the dealer to pick up a small part. I saw a nice, shiny white 2wd regular cab with the old style headlights sitting at the end of the lot. I thought it was something they took in on trade. I walked over, and sure enough, it was brand new! Laramie, loaded with navigation. Really nice. 27 miles on the odometer. MSRP of $37k and change.

I wonder what kind of deal they'll be giving on those? I went in there and negotiated a great deal on a Megacab when they first came out, but the numbers were too high for me at the time. I ended up keeping my '03.

I wish I could afford a second truck! I'd love to buy one, chop the frame and put on a short bed.

They also had a black one and a brown one. I wonder how they've sat for 2 years?

(Oops. Wrong forum-meant to post in No Engine/Trans forum)

They could be Hurricane Katrina trucks. Investigate what dealers they've been passed around to. Also if 48re transmission I believe wasn't approved for exhaust brake.

I wish I had some extra $$$. I'd pick up the white one in a heartbeat! Great little running around truck, perfect for a short-bed conversion! TST, Smarty, a nice single, some pressure, oh, man!

Thats weird, in 05' when I ordered my reg. cab 4x4 I could not get a laramie. Only st, slt were option for reg. cabs????

I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole because just from sitting seals dry out, parts rust, one thing after another would probably go bad. Rear gears haven't moved, etc. . Engine might be OK... It might be OJK for a ranch truck or something, but I wouldn't depend on it...

I had an 06 I took a chance on, it was built AUG 05 and I bought it DEC 06. It was a nightmare... . These trucks are even a year older... Now if they had been driven a few 1000 miles A-OK!

I went back to the dealer to pick up my parts, and couldn't resist taking another look at these trucks...

Sure enough, a salesman approached! Long story short:

About a year and a half ago a new set of owners acquired the dealership. The old management had ordered and kept way too many vehicles on the lot. I remember when I was looking at a Megacab when they first came out (negotiated a good deal, but didn't pull the trigger) there were so many vehicles on the lot you couldn't even drive around.

One day everyone showed up and the doors were locked. Everyone was out of a job. They were closed for the better part of a month or two.

New ownership came in, and they've been clearing house ever since. These three trucks were parked in a corner and forgotten about when the '06 trucks were rolling in. With the mixup and confusion during the sale to new owners (I'm assuming here) they just sat for a long time until they "found" at the back of the lot.

Anyway, the white one (which I want but can't afford) is a 2500 reg. cab long bed Laramie Sport with taupe interior. It has navigation, too. I think the sticker is $37k and change. They're asking $29,900. It has 27 miles.

It comes with the full warranty as new from DC. I sure wish I could talk the woman into trading in the Audi wagon!!!

$30,000 is still too much. On a brand new dodge Ram you can take $10,000 off the MSRP. I would haggle with them on a straight out deal and lower the price as much as possible over a few weeks. Then find out what your Audi is worth and make them come to terms over the price difference.

I agree, I think $30k is too much. $25k OTD and I'd find a way to do it. Since I've only had my '07 two months, I think it would be hard for me to justify to the g/f why I need a 2nd truck that's two years old and 2wd to boot. I know she won't drive it, she'd make me give her the 4x4 :-laf

Someone should hammer them for a deal...

Redwood City Dodge if anyone cares to know.

NADA says it's worth $27,925, if it were used with only 27 miles on it. I agree with starting off with $25K

roperteacher: I don't believe sitting for two years is going to hurt a thing. On the other hand if it were 10 years old and it had 150K on the clock, then maybe it may hurt the seals.

My truck is a laramie- I ordered it new. I've only ever seen one other laramie regular cab though. They are definately a rare item.

I know exactly how you feel about that truck. As soon as you look at it gear in your head start's spinning thinking about how seet it would be having a small light weight 05 auto which seems to be the strongest year.

With some slicks it wouldnt be hard to be in the low 12's.

As you know they want too much but id definetly condider it for $25K OTD

Too bad you sold your 03 because this truck would definetly fill the void.
