Gene, Thanks for the thread and great info.
It answered some questions I've been pondering for quite a while, like:
Could you get Airstream MHs with diesel engs. in them back then?
Two years ago traveling, towing our 31' Excella, we pulled into a rest-stop in Utah. While looking for parking space, I drove by a parked Airstream MH.
I had just stopped a few spaces down and opened my door when he was leaving. As he drove by us he honked with his air horns and waved.
I said to my wife "That sounded like it had a Cummins eng. in it. I didn't know you could get an Airstream with a Cummins eng. "
I thought,we're going the same direction, maybe I'll see him again and I'll get to ask him about the eng. etc. Didn't happen, and I've been curious ever since.
