My truck is an 06, 4x4, automatic bone stock. About 2 weeks ago I noticed what appears to be a transmission leak from the bell housing area under the middle of the truck. overnight, the drip is about 2" wide and will run down the driveway about 18" or so. The fluid appears redish in color, but also there appears to be s clear type of lubricant with it.

I had the local transmission shop trouble shoot the problem & they determined that the "O" ring was leaking, but replaced that and the front seal, and changed the transmission filter and fluid and the transfer case fluid while they were there.

The problem is---it's doing the same thing, so obviously they didn't solve the problem with what they did. The shop is reputable and will have another go at it. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is? Thanks to anyone with help.

Take a look toward the rear passenger side of the engine, just above the turbo and below the rear of the exhaust manifold.

There is a good chance that a short coolant hose will be leaking, this has been very common with our 06 Rams.

I tightened the clamps and the hose hasn't leaked since.

Ditto on this. My 06 had the exact same issue and it turned out to just be that loose clamp.

My bet is coolant as well. Look at the bell housing you will most likely see a crusty stain starting to build up. I see a couple every week.

I have the exact same issue on my 06... . will check it out tommorow and report back... . just for the slow witted (me)... . to make sure i understand: it's not the short coolant hose hanging off the overflow bottle correct? It's another hose that already has a clamp on it? that goes from where to where?

Above the turbo, below the exhaust manifold,it is a heater tube
