This Tim Roberts only flys low . I have 1940 willys coupe drag car but I sold motor and trans. But I live in Valparaiso Fl. next to Eglin AFB.

I've got 1500 miles on my S-Jr. The first tank or so was around town and it seems the mileage was up about 1 or 1. 5 mpg above my norm of about 17, but I didn't have a chance to do a fillup before leaving for Az for Christmas. It also SEEMED the overhead was closer to actual than before judging by the number of miles to the 1/2 mark on the gauge. It's normally at least 2mpg high, sometimes 2. 5 or more.

On Dec22 we left for Flagstaff from San Diego and I did my first fill in Yuma. Prior to that I had done a partial fill with enough to get to Yuma as it's 35-40 cents cheaper there than San Diego. That gave me 863 miles, about 650 of that with the S-Jr installed on the "economy-40hp" setting and I drove the 150 miles to Yuma at an honest 75mph all the way even when climbing through 3500 feet of elevation change. I got 17. 4mpg. From Yuma to Flagstaff, about 335 miles, again at 75mph all the way, even from Phoenix to Flag which is a 7000 foot climb plus about 120 around-town miles gave me 15. 1. I did the Flagstaff-to-Yuma leg, 335 miles, in just about 4 hours and 45 minutes of actual driving time, or right at a 71 mph average , with several short bursts at 80mph or so.

The last full fill was exactly 18mpg hand calc. I've never gotten better than about 16. 5 before in similar circumstances. Interestingly, the overhead read 18. 5, closer to actual than it's ever been. I haven't filled up since getting home, so can't comment except to say the mpg is down a bit because the last 150 miles home includes a section of I-8 that goes from sea level to 4500 feet in about a 10mile stretch and I did it at 70mph on cruise, which didn't help the numbers any.

I have a Roktek timing adjuster that was on the full advance setting leaving home and put back to the stock setting coming back. I was concerned it might have too much timing in combo with the S-Jr so I played it safe.

Not bad for the speeds I was going in a Mega-dually-G56 at around 9000 pounds running weight. It now has 36,000 miles on it.

Great throttle response, really great passing power on the highway, and a lot more low speed smoke at high altitude; a little less so now that I'm home and running between sea level and 1800 feet,

but still more than stock. It idles at 800-850rpm now instead of 750 stock. Any more comparisons betwen 40 and 70hp out there? I'm curious, especially about smoke output and/or mileage.

I'm happy.

I have had my SJR since the 18th... and it got broken-in on the drive back to Tacoma from PDX... what a hoot that drive was... only on setting 1. Since then I have been adjusting the speedo with the tire size application and now have the setting to be pretty good aveage over the entire range of speeds, took about 3 days to get that done.

Driving daily with no load on step one is great, milage is up and will do calcs when I fill up in about 250 more miles. I tried it on the 70 and didn't really notice much of a change, but maybe when the camper is on I will gett the real benefit. Put it up to 100 and it does get it on... would really need to do the same run with the differnt setting to make an honest judgement. Maybe i'll do that after I do the fuel calcs for this filled tank... don't want to mess up the avg. BTW the overhead seems to be more accurate and a little higher than the norm of B SJR (before SJR). I got to1/2 tank with just over 300 miles on the clock and the overhead telling me I had 249 to go before MT. This is good! Will report more later. BTW the downloads only took between 4 to 6 mins. I like it so far! :)

Just got back from a trip to FL. with the Smarty Jr. on #1, 1. 7 mpg better than the same trip at Thanksgiving w/o the Smarty Jr. both tanks hand calculated and tank filled to the top of the neck with the vent kit. That also includes some WOT grins.

OK, here's my dilemma. I was sold on getting a smarty, but was waiting until I got a fuel pressure gauge and either a fass or gdp pump. I was planning to stack the smarty with my Edge EZ.

Now... here comes Jr. Will it be as good of a stack as the original smarty? And if so, will I still need the gauge and pump prior to running the stack?

The Smarty Sr is the better stacker... more options. . the Jr is for those of us that want to stay mild...

Someone was asking if anything else was included in Jr. download, like high idle.

Well, today I noticed my "horn honking in reverse with door open" was gone.

Bob

,if that was intentional, that's a good selling point!

Whats the TDR price on the jr now? I have an edge ez now and just leave on the middle setting.

and by hooking up the ez does it leave any foot print?

I have my SJR on step 1 and horn still honks... what is it that makes the difference?

I got my smarty jr. friday late afternoon. So saterday morning down lowded level 2 (towing) every thing went perfect and fast!I love my truck even more. After the new rubs off I will try to get some fuel milage numbers. Oo.

Sold my triple dog and bought the SJR from Bob... . Fast shippin even for the holiday... thanks Bob. Smarty is quieter than my triple dog on level 1 and the power feels smooother with a nice lowend push. Gotta be careful coming outa a wet corner now or shes sideways:D. What a great downloader. . Now I know what you Smarty folks are talkin about. I'm hopin we might have a program in the future for bigger injectors as I would like to maybe try the DDP 50s. Only thing I miss is bein able to turn that darn seatbelt minder off. . Oh well don't have a missus so I guess the truck can be the WAR dept. for now:-{}

Just took the first road trip with the rig. My milage for the first couple tanks with all around driving without smarty did 16. 5mpg. Road trip with smarty jr setting #1, 350 miles with 30% #1 fuel all road miles at 65 mph average did 19. 4. Filled up with #2 fuel for trip home with amsoil fuel conditioner did 20. 4mpg averaging 67-is mph. Oo. Oo. Oo.

I have never done this milage with a pickup since my old 6. 2 GM days.

I did it,Thanks Bob, just ordered my JR.

Hope it shows up when the boss is at work :-laf Now all i have to do is sell my EZ.

Got mine just after Christmas. Had trouble loading and received excellent customer service, Bob answered the phone on the first call! Marco had to write a program for my truck because the dealer messed with my ECM. Bob got me the program in less than a week. Fixed my ECM and then loaded level 1. I don't know if I will ever save any gas. Way too much fun to drive. I can't seem to keep my foot out of it:D. I can't even imagine what level 3 would be like:-laf Will try to keep an eye on the fuel mileage. Will take trip in April/May with 11500 pound trailer. Should be able to get mileage for that trip anyway:eek:

Would the amount of duration with settings 2 and 3 be enough to require an aftermarket LP? I have been looking at a GDP kit but haven't taken the plunge yet. I know on the 03-04. 5 the LP barely supports stock requirements so I may have just answered my own question. I don't have a FP gauge yet either so I don't know how low it actually is right now.
