Friend of mine works at a dodge dealer and told me that in 2009 dodge will go with a cat diesel in there trucks. Please tell me this is not true and that he is wrong.

Well that is what i thought but its kinda hard to tell him other wise. Just wondering cause i would hate to see it happen.

Cummins all the way... ... ... ... ... ... . even in the 1/2 tons

I believe Cummins is in contract with Dodge till 2012. Can't wait to see those half ton diesel. When the time comes and if I can afford it, I'll own a half ton diesel for every day, and a HD for towing. :)

A friend of mine works at a ford dealership and he told me in 1992 that ford was putting a CAT in their trucks in 1994, so i am not worried about the cummins going anywhere:D

Hmmm sorta like the Ford dealerhip guy on another, non auto related forum that I belong to swearing on his kids that Ford owns Cummins. Took me 30seconds to post an article stating other wise! LOL

I had a Ferd salesman tell me that Ferd owns Cummins and if Ferd wanted to they would use Cummins on there trucks. He continued that ford prefer to use the powerjoke because it's a better engine. I told him he was full of s--- and went straight to the General Manager and told him what had happened. The GM did tell me that there was no better diesel then Cummins and that ford owns no part of it and that he would have a meeting with all his sales staff to explain a few things to them. I went to the ford dealer to take my brother-in-law to pick up his f250, which had been in for major repairs which only happens all the time. After all the major problems with his f250 my brother-in-law bought an 08 f350 SRW with a 6. 4 powerjoke. It too has been in the shop.

everytime I've gone to check out something new out at the dealerships, I find that I know more about the new stuff coming out than either the sales people, or the service people. I think the dealers are usually the last people to find out about anything new.

Yep. Everytime I go I ramble out some stuff and they always shut up. Dealers dont know half of what they think they do; they dont know an eighth of what they think they do. I say somethin about a CP3 or something else and they have no idea; they usually get the picture that I know alot more than the typical customer. I went and asked if they had any 6. 7 Cummins before they came out, and was told there was no such thing... hmm, I believe they were wrong on that one!!

I Work For A Large Truck Dealership, I Have Heard Some Of The Higher Ups Talking That Cat Might Drop Out Of The Over The Road Engines. Of Course We All Here Lots Of Roomers Every Where.

your right about dealerships knowin nuttin. We know more about these trucks than there own mechanics do.

LOL! I can relate to that well! My local dealership doesnt have any trained diesel mechanics and they have called me on several things and also called me asking where to find obsolete parts. I get a good discount on new parts now. LOL

If you check, Cat is not interested in putting any of their engines in light duty trucks. Their plate is full building heavy equipment. If I had my choice of their engine for trucks our size, it would be the 3206. Of course they haven't built that engine for... what... over 20 years. It would be nice tho.
