I have owned the Smarty SO6 for sometime now. It is wonderful, however I read here and there about stacking the TST with it. Even Smarty's Bob Wagner sells them as well as TST sells Smarty. Except for gauges and other convenient features, I see adjustable timing and rail pressure with the TST. But the Smarty already has timing, why might I want more or less using the TST and do I want static or automatic? I have heard that fuel pressure increase may be damaging. Perhaps the serious racers want the pressure and DO expect thing to break but can first get several competeing runs.
I have the Edge with Attitude, that is what I started out with before my warranty ended!
Since I received the Smarty I have always run the Edge off and only use it for gauges! I've tried stacking with it but the Smarty at SW 9 and Wild TM is far better all the way through the tachometer.
So now I own the TST R-49, which gets installed as soon as I am finished this post, and have the Edge on eBay. How should I adjust the 2? My inclination is to run the Smarty as I have before but with no timing and add a bit of timing until rattle or?!?
And try a bit more on the power or should ?.
I should mention that I tow RV's for a living. I have been running the Smarty on Mild TM and SW 3... Edge off. When I have to run empty I load Wild and SW 9 most of the time weather permitting!
Looking at my signature below you'll notice the upgrades.
And FYI... I have 357,000 miles on this '05 and with all this power, which I can't help from using, she now has 147,000 miles on Michelin tires!
Still 5/32" left. About 60% of the miles are loaded 20-26K gross. The truck loaded with fuel and water/meth not towing is 9,820 lbs. on a Cat scale.
