Did they not put a lock on the tailgate? Lets put a inside release on the fuel fill too. One more feature on the stalk would be ok, I would like to push or pull once to get one wipe, not a twist! They keep getting better but they must be last with the tailgate lock.

As far as a tailgate lock, just get a less then $1 hose clamp for the right side roller hinge or a pop-n- lock tailgate lock. I did both. For the fuel tank get a locking fuel cap from Mopar. As far as automatic headlights, how lazy can you get? Who needs some of the junk that ferd puts out anyway.

DRL's and automatic headlights are two different things. The Chevy I was forced to drive by my old employer had auto headlights. There was a daylight sensor on the dash that would flip between DRL's and headlights. Took a while to get used to turning on the lights again once I bought a real truck.

The automatic feature only bothered me once. I was driving in a rain storm at night and some lightning struck nearby. The flash was bright enough that the truck switched back to DRL's. After a few seconds the headlights were back. Not a big deal really but all things combined I was freaked out at the time.

Grizzly, I hope they never drop the ST model but for people who buy the SLT and upper level trucks they should have a tailgate lock and not have to buy it extra even from the accesory catalog. The ST model should not have any of the extras.

How much is the backup camera option? You can get a backup camera at Costco for $69. I don't know how they differ. See my recent thread on backup camera vs. bumper sensors.

There's no pricing information available yet. I can say that the field of view from this camera was impressive. I would assume it will be integrated better in the dash as well although there wasn't information on what the display in the vehicle would be. We'll have to see when the production models hit.

Well at least the locking tailgate option is cheap to do aftermarket. (Bully dog $ 26 + or -) while we are on the subject of what DXXXE left off our trucks, How about the dinky 1/4 rear wheel well liners instead of full? How much did the bean counters save by that junk? (just spent 1. 5 hours cleaning all the claylike mud out from under most of my truck)

I hope they continue to offer various trim levels. I do not want the cheap seats and manual windows of the ST model, but I also do not want a push button transfer case, automatic headlights, DRL, navigation, back up camera, locking tailgate. I like a nice cloth seat, power windows and locks, a premium CD radio, 4 wheel drive and manual transmission. My '06 and my Liberty are both equipped exactly as I like a vehicle (just wish the liberty CRD was available with a manual transmission). I like some nice luxuries, but not the overdone crap. I can turn on my OWN lights and windshield wipers, thank you!

As another opinion: I prefer the "keyfob" mounted remote versus the key/remote all in one design. I have my key on a quick disconnect, where I can leave the engine running, lock the doors, take the keyfob with me and then unlock the doors when I return from picking up take out, paying for fuel, etc.

Talgate locks are relatively inexpensive and simple to install.

Personally, I will NEVER own a vehicle with auto headlights. If I'm paying for the truck, it needs to do what I tell it to (switch on / off) instead of doing this sort of thing for me, usually when I don't want it. Driving in to the hunting area, driving in the front gate at a military installation (headlights must be off when approaching the gate guards), I want full control over the operation of the lights. IMHO daytime running lights are a hazard anyway -- I see too many dummies who forget to turn on their headlights and drive down the road w/o any tail-lights!

As for options, they need to come back with the suicide doors like they had on the 2d Gen. Can't stand the new 4-door cabs.
