What happens to the emission systems when you put a chip on the 6. 7's? I see that Edge and a few others have programmers for the 6. 7's now, and I understand the motor should have no issues, but what about the DPF? Will that plug up pretty quick?

Thanks!

Robert

I don't see much point in putting a programmer on at this point unless you do the DPF delete. More fuel equals more soot so you will probably have an active regen more often. More active regens also means more fuel dilution of the oil as well as decreased fuel economy.

Block the EGR and get rid of the DPF and you'd have a quick truck. Probably better fuel economy as long as you keep your foot out of it.

An active regen involves additional fuel being injected into the engine on the exhaust stroke. Since no combustion occurs some of this fuel finds it's way into the crankcase.

04/13/08 New 08. thats been on order for 30 days is here. Been checking on the dpf kits. I see H&S has a 5" kit, no codes for 900. 00 and Bay Area for around 1300. 00 still has codes. Can someone tell me why the big differance in price?

Warranty??? HAHAHA!!! if you plan on any kind of mod to these trucks nowdays either be friends with your dealer or know how to work on it yourself is the way i see it. not to sound like an *** by any means here just telling the truth... .
